Description
C.A.R.E.S., which stands for Confirmed Access to Resources for Every Survivor, is a proposed barricade plan methodology that draws its core goals from the belief that, by failing to ensure the accessibility of resources to every level of survivor, the threat posed by zombie attacks is increased as a direct result of these survivor's inability to obtain the supplies and equipment that is required for survival during the outbreak in Malton. The C.A.R.E.S. proposal attempts to address what its proponents see as an inherent flaw in the deployment of the UBP and similar methods, by implementing the concept of dynamic barricade response, a concept that outlines procedures by which survivors may determine desired barricade strength independently of a rigid plan.
Key Concepts
- Barricade Construction is a survivor's single greatest weapon against zombie attacks. But for many inexperienced survivors, they also pose the single greatest obstacle to gathering resources. The objective of the C.A.R.E.S. barricade plan is to provide a better balance between the safety advantages of heavy barricades with the resource needs of inexperienced survivors.
- Barricade Plans that are "written in stone" fail by their inability to adapt to the dynamic behavior of zombie hordes. Establishing a standard protocol by which survivors may appropriately raise their barricade level in response to increased zombie presence is intended to resolve this insufficiency.
- Effective communication through tagging can save lives, by directing survivors towards entry points and accessible resources. C.A.R.E.S plans should include a comprehensive set of tags, including alternate tags for dynamic barricade levels.
Planning Goals
- Determine the exact ratio of survivors-to-zombies at which a building may appropriately raise its barricades past an enterable level. Do bodies laying on the ground affect this balance? What about zombies in the surrounding blocks? What is the point where a building's barricades should be increased in response to the number of zombies outside, regardless of survivor presence?
