Hey Draig. I've never donated to the game (I'm cheap), but as far as I know, you need to name a character when you do so - that character alone will be immune to the hits, though will have a 300 IP hit limit for themselves. Perhaps you've exceeded the 160 hits between the other two combined - they reset at midnight GMT, so you may have miscalculated your numbers by banking on another reset time. Other than those possbilities, all I can think of is that you've not put a character down with your donation, or put it down incorrectly. If that's the case, all I can think of for a fix would be to get in touch with Kevan via email and enquire as to what's gone wrong. Sorry I'm not much help in the matter. {{User:Misanthropy/Sig}} 21:03, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
:Hey, I saw your post on Misanthropy's talk page. The Settings thing that you read about is actually on the profile page for your character (i.e. the page you get to when you click on your character's name) and it looks like [http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v196/Anubis_IV/urbandead/ip_limit_flag.png this] at the bottom of the page when you've successfully donated for a character. As Misanthropy said, it doesn't actually make you exempt from the IP limit, but rather gives that individual character 300 hits per day to make. It also means that any IP hits incurred while playing that character do NOT count against your IP for other characters. So, for instance, if you had three characters, right now, you have to split the 160 IP hits you get without donating between all three. If you donated for one of them, that one would get 300 hits, and the other two would get to split the 160 hits between them.
:Also, as Misanthropy said, you need to specify which character(s) you're donating for when you make the donation, since Kevan has no way of connecting PayPal donations to individual characters. When you're transferred over to PayPal, there's a little box where you can enter a note/description for the payment. You're supposed to provide the names of your characters there. If you did that, and it's already been longer than, say, a week since you donated, e-mail Kevan and give him the PayPal transaction/order number, as well as the day you made your payment, and he'll get you squared away (it happened to me just like that when I donated for one of my characters). If you forgot to specify your characters while you were donating, I would e-mail Kevan anyway, give him the order details, and just explain the situation very briefly to him, and ask him to flag two of your characters to be immune from the IP limit (make sure you provide him the names, of course).
:Hope that answers your question. {{User:Aichon/Signature}} 21:47, 6 January 2010 (UTC) |

- Hey, I saw your post on Misanthropy's talk page. The Settings thing that you read about is actually on the profile page for your character (i.e. the page you get to when you click on your character's name) and it looks like this at the bottom of the page when you've successfully donated for a character.
- Also, as Misanthropy said, you need to specify which character(s) you're donating for when you make the donation, since Kevan has no way of connecting PayPal donations to individual characters.
