| '''The Dastardly (Un)Lives and Times of Francis Rothburn'''
| | 2010: I've returned... |
|
| |
| It all began in August.
| |
| I don't remember much about the time before that, except that I was living and breathing.
| |
| I don't remember how long I was dead for or what prompted me to get off my concrete bed.
| |
| All I remember is a burning hunger dwelling in parts I cannot conceive of.
| |
| I arose as one of the damned in Lukinswood and headed toward the shiny thrall of Havercroft and the bastion of the Ackland mall.
| |
|
| |
| I wasn't greeted warmly, by human or zombie, and spent much time struggling to survive.
| |
| Yet, with each bite and bullet wound, I grew stronger and more self-sufficient.
| |
| Someone pulled me out of the nature I was growing to appreciate and mortality suddenly became my bane.
| |
| I instantly sought undeath to comfort and console me.
| |
| Yet, as I terrorized other humans, an emptiness grew in me.
| |
|
| |
| Dave ZS found me as I pounded on the walls of Ackland and gave me life yet again.
| |
| This time I seized the opportunity and used my new life to adapt to the threats of humans and zombie killers.
| |
| I was unaccustomed to the rigors of breathing and hiding.
| |
| The streets were no longer my friends and an infection raged within my blood.
| |
| It took several attempts to make living last more than a day or two.
| |
|
| |
| By now, I had learned some tricks of the trade and decided to help others as they struggled through the same trials I had.
| |
| I wandered far, trying to apply my talents as needed.
| |
| However, I made no impact in the worst areas of Malton and undeath was my only reward.
| |
| I ventured back to familiar territory, accompanied by my trusty axe, and began to learn the secrets of Necrotech.
| |
|
| |
| I quickly learned that not all zombies appreciate the delicate, scientific nature of bringing the re-departed back to their senses.
| |
| The numbers of the revived and the executed began to blur together, but a new purpose calls to me now.
| |
| North Blythville has become too unfriendly to my mission and I must now seek greener pastures.
| |
| Yet, as memories of my former life and the tenets of Barhah mingle in my mind, I am unsure of where to go next.
| |
| | |
| I eventually decided to head back to Havercroft and I finally set my eyes upon the interior of a non-ruined Ackland Mall...
| |
| That sight was short-lived, however.
| |
| Ackland fell yet again and I was, yet again, one of the undead.
| |
| I turned my rotten eyes to North Blythville, my home away from wherever I was.
| |
| | |
| I was alive again and took to the defense of the St. Julie's. | |
| It was then I did something new.
| |
| I took a human life as a human.
| |
| It was deserved, he was a zombie spy.
| |
| Things are getting hectic.
| |
| I'm in South Blythville now, waiting...
| |
| | |
| Death returns to me and this time it's a little welcome.
| |
| I'm becoming stronger, but the limit is up ahead.
| |
| Now do I choose to stay a zombie or go back to humanity?
| |
| It's a tough choice...
| |
| | |
| I awake again after a long period of hiding. The indecision of which nature to embrace continued to eat at me. I chose to embrace my feral nature and allowed the rot to creep over my brain. The choice wasn't the smartest, but I must live with my actions and hope that my humanity can be restored.
