Oh I'm also thinking of making a suggestion to use bottles of beer and wine as 2 time use weapons - the first is where you can hit someone over the head with them for 2 damage, the second you can stab them for 3 damage. Then, like a pool cue, it breaks :) --Tselita 21:50, 8 May 2008 (BST) | Oh I'm also thinking of making a suggestion to use bottles of beer and wine as 2 time use weapons - the first is where you can hit someone over the head with them for 2 damage, the second you can stab them for 3 damage. Hi. I've noticed you have been signing (or have signed recently) with the Goonsig template, or a variation of it that includes the highly colourful :File:555Manbabies.gif. Unfortunately it doesn't comply with the sig policy as it has an image over 50kb. There is more documentation at User talk:Revenant#signature. As per the signature policy you have a week to change it before you are brought to justice for violation of wikilaw. hi
Sorry to see the first thing you did after making a wiki account was to vote spam, but I have a question - if the nailgun had other uses in addition to being a weapon (for instance, Jiang's idea of it being base 20% and an additional 25% if you have Construction, and it has the side effect of increasing the efficiency of making barracades like ScotW suggested), would that change your opinion of it? Thanks in advance for letting me know --Tselita 20:41, 8 May 2008 (BST)
- Hahaha, I put my reponse before getting this new edit you put. So, yes, if it had useful additional uses like what you have, my opinion would be changed--I mean, it'd still depend on how the changes are implemented and how it effects balance and stuff, and whether or not it fills a "niche" purpose. I'd reconsider based on large changes like that, definitely. Colbear 20:54, 8 May 2008 (BST)
- Okay good, because even if nailgun does get peer reviewed or undecided, I'm planning on making a nailgun v2.0 which uses those suggestions. I wish they had told me those ideas back during Talk:Discussion, because I would have loved it --Tselita 21:20, 8 May 2008 (BST)
Here's a little preview of my nailgun v2.0 idea. First off, it starts at 20%. That alone makes it better than other consumer starting improvised weapons. Second, it does not use firearms or melee, but rather it uses Construction to give it an additional 25% to hit at 3 damage with a 15 nail gun clip. The third part is the part I'm going to want suggestions on and advice: Either 1) If you have the nailgun and a nail gun clip, it lets you barracade TWO levels instead of 1 for every successful barracade attempt. However, it only can be used this way if the barracades are at least Quite Strongly. If it's at loosely or Lightly, then it doesn't help.
OR
2) If you have the nailgun and a nail gun clip, it lets you barracade TWO levels instead of 1 for every successful barracade attempt. However, it only can be used this way while the barracades are LOW - ie, VSB or lower. If it's at Heavily, Very Heavily, or Extremely Heavily, the nailgun doesn't give any bonuses.
OR
3) If you have the nailgun and a nail gun clip, the chance of successful barracading increases 25% (or some other number)
Of course, you need Construction in order to get this advantage, since you need Construction in order to get the barracade button in the first place. I'm leaning to the third idea on the principle of KISS. --Tselita 21:31, 8 May 2008 (BST)
- I like 3 more--make it more successful, instead of barricading twice, because that seems like a bit too much of an advantage. Also, I like the idea of it not being comparable to a "real" weapon (because it's not, it's just a tool), and thus using Construction instead. It brings to mind images of a TF2 engineer killing people with his wrench. :) Colbear 21:34, 8 May 2008 (BST)
- Honestly I wish people would read the suggestion closely. Powder-actuated direct driven nail guns use gunpowder. The nails shoot out with the force of a .22 calibre bullet. There are 37000 injuries a year with them, including 5 deaths in Massachussetts and 4 in Florida in April of this year alone. Not making this up - I did actual research to get these facts. It's a tool -and- a weapon, just like an axe is a tool and a weapon, or how a crowbar is a tool and a weapon. Or a knife is a tool and a weapon (remember you can find a large scalpel in an infirmary, and use it as a knife). Okay... got that out of my system. I agree that MECHANICS-wise, it should probably be using skills that go towards its 'tool' main purpose. Sorry wasn't trying to rant :) That being said... what's TF2? I really don't know :) --Tselita 21:48, 8 May 2008 (BST)
