-We still have very vague idea about mechanics of swarm intelligence. It is very active area of research, by many believed to be a key to true AI. Bees and ants don't have intelligence on their own, still these insects are creating large-scale organized groups. The bigger the horde, the harder is to predict and explain the actions of the group.
