Description

The Cranfield Museum in the early 1990s, viewed from across Lilly Square.

The Cranfield Museum is a conceptual art museum located in the north central part of Darvall Heights. A red-brick building, it is attached to Dandison Auto Repair next door.

History

The Cranfield Museum was opened in the late 1880s as The Cranfield Gallery, overlooking picturesque Piers Park. It was originally a showcase for the local artists of Darvall Heights and southern Gatcombeton. As some of the local talent gained wider recognition they attracted wealthy patrons, most notably Quentin Howel, the founder of Howel Bank. In 1931 the gallery became a museum dedicated to the early works of these conceptual artists. It closed its doors in 2005.

Barricade Policy

This building should be maintained at Extremely Heavily Barricaded in accordance with the Darvall Heights barricade plan.
