WARNING!

What comes next is a very wild idea. So unless you are brave of heart you should not read further.

Preface

It might be different for some people, but I am a bit tired of playing UD. First of all, I am tired of playing as a zombie. I have got two zombie characters. Neither of them is feral. Both enjoy a good share of meta-gaming and coordination with other players. But it is still a bitch to play a zombie!

Then I am bored to play as a survivor. I have got a survivor character and have to go far and wide to find a challenge for him. And unless Big Bash is coming his way I see no way zombies can be a threat for him.

At the moment it's 40% zombies, 60% survivors (I am sure you know). In a zombie apocalypse game. And for almost 1.5 years I am playing I can hardly remember that things were ever different (give or take a few percent points).

But I think it would be different if Kevan wouldn't mess with the search and barricading rates. (And I am sure he does - this very morning I spent 23 AP to bring down a single barricade section with my zombie character #1 and 17 AP for the same task with my zombie character #2! What kind of RNG hate is that?! Meanwhile my survivor character was able to rise barricades in an NT building to EHB+4 with 2 failure messages. And in the present situation too!)

The question

My question is - why Kevan does not want zombies to "win" (that is, to eat all survivors)? Yes, it would result in a restart of the game. But then I ask - so what? Would zombies find it interesting to play if they knew they could win? I am sure they would. Would survivors find it interesting to play if they knew they could lose? I am sure they would. It is a survival game after all!

The answer

The only way I see players can bring Kevan to realization of this fact is to force the game to be lost by survivors and won by zombies. Let's see it! This would be so great to be a witness of the whole game world collapsing. And then starting all over again!

The wild idea

So the wild idea is a new movement - somewhat similar to what On Strike once was, but different too. We can call it RELOAD or something like that. The idea is very simple - bring the game to the end of its first round. Show everyone that it is nothing to be afraid of. That it is better to play the game with clear rules and end a round of it and start anew - than to play it indefinitely with the game-master constantly twitching the game mechanics for the sake of balance (or better said - status quo).

Now, what is being suggested is NOT a full reset of the game. Hardly anyone is really interested in having their characters reset and starting anew from level 1. Perhaps if RELOAD succeeds Kevan will have to think of a solution (like massive revive points for those, who would like to start as survivors after everyone or the majority is dead). But now that lies in the area of speculations.

If sufficient number of people will agree to that we can work together to reach a single goal - to convert all survivors in Malton to zombies. Force Kevan to accept that we want a fair and interesting gameplay with goals that can actually be reached!

In that we are not going to break the game - we will be working in compliance with the rules of the game. It's just that survivors (at least a part of them) will stop acting as survivors and turn zombies.

This is a technically viable idea if it gains support from influential people on the UD wiki.
