Field Journal

Before April 26, 2008: The President has created the Department of Paranormal Investigations, and has made me senior field agent. My mission is to enter Malton as a civilian police officer, and report the following: The amount of zombie activities, the threat level, the amount of survivors and military presence, and more importantly, who is behind the zombie infection. Upon entering my duties, I wonder why the Malton Police carry outdated weaponry.

April 26, 2008: Recieved orders from the military to barricade Burt Square PD, and to watch for survivors and zombies. After meeting the commander, I wonder why the military did not bring automatic weapons, or any more convenient weapons to combat the infections. Several military survivors have lost their weapons, and are making do with the service revolvers and other weapons we stored in the department. While checking the perimeter, I ran into a zombie, and shot it four times. Didn't flinch, so I retreated. Hid out and monitored the radio while the others were sleeping. It's not a good day. (I think we should have a bit faster AP recharge.)

April 27, 2008: I decided to check the nearby locations for survivors. Man, the surrounding areas have lots of zombies. Did the best I could to avoid them. I am not in a suitable position to fight them head on. I bid my comrades farewell, and with promises to come back alive. While exploring, I ran into the Toop Motel, and found it has a good barricade. Plans to rest here and relay messages to Burt PD to mark this as a secondary location to retreat to. Managed to make it Back to Burt PD, though I am tired. Will report in after I've rested.

I made my report to DPI, and the president isn't happy, and has informed me that the Prime Minister has decided that Malton will remain under quarantine. As an agent of the government, I couldn't help but feel helpless as the approaching darkness awaits us.

April 28, 2008: I moved west early in the morning, and investigated the Rishton Building, and found two survivors in there. I would've stayed, but spotted a zombie across the street, and open fired on it. I missed four times, thought screw it, and punched it. I then ran like crazy back to Burt Square PD. Yes, I know I'm weak, but I didn't get enough rest last night, and I feel that I can't do anything in this world. I will attempt to try again later.

April 29, 2008: I went to investigate the Pullinger Auto Shop across the street. Ran into a zombie with a flak jacket. Shot it four times, and only one hit. Damn, am I really a bad shot? I was pretty good back at the academy. Anyways, I ditched the weapon and went into hand-to-hand combat. For a zombie, he moves pretty fast. I still can't believe I missed all four punches. I picked up my pistol and shot it again (the fourth hit). When it staggered, I ran back to the Police Department. Man, why am I so lame?

April 30, 2008: A zombie managed to break through the barrier we've erected, and managed to kill one of us. Unfortunately, most of us were offline, which is why we didn't see this happening. I went to Nickols Drive and managed to kill a zombie. Spent the first few moments punching it, only got in one hit. Then, I fired at it with my pistol about 10 times, with startling accuracy. I then tried to finish it off with a shotgun, but somehow missed (How did I miss?), and finished it off with another 5 shots with my pistol. One more zombie won't be messing with me.

The president told me that he cannot send in more DPI agents, as they are on other assignments, and would have to recruit others to help me if possible. When I asked about the conditions of Malton, he told me that the atmoshpere at the office is tense, and that the other world leaders are worried that the epidemic would spread to other countries. They are keeping us contained as a precaution (Jeez, as if I didn't know).

May 1, 2008: Yesterday, a zombie broke in again and took another one out, and the barricades are loosely barricaded. I think its time to leave. I left the survivors there, hoping to find a toobox to repair our ruined headquarters. I feel sad to leave, but I'm the only capable person to do so. Ran into a zombie, and shot it on the fly while trying to escape. Made it to Ling Boulevard PD in Vinetown, in an attempt to find supplies. Tried the nearby junkyards and warehouses, but they are ESB (why would anyone do that?).

Called the president and notified of my position. He is sad to lose a TRP, but told me to move on, and recapture it if possible.

May 3, 2008: Went back to Burt Square Police Department. Found it back in good shape, so I decided to stay there. Went south to the Mydleham Building and shot at a zombie with a flak vest on for fun. I also went to an adjacent street to attack another zombie.

Reported the president that Burt Square PD has been retaken. Will stay there until moved or otherwise noted.

May 4, 2008: Another zombie broke in, wrecking the room into pieces. I fired all my flares, shotgun, and pistol, but the flak absorbed it all. Tired, I retreated to the back of the room to avoid it, hoping that another survivor can finish the job. Found an article on how to free-run, so I read it with interest, and decided to learn how to free-run.

May 5, 2008: A zombie broke in again, I am very sick of that. I blew it away with my shottie and blast it out the door with my pistol. With the help of Pat the Unzombifier, we managed to drive the zombie away and rebuilt the barricades. I'd help, but my AP supply is low, so I'll tune in tomorrow.

May 6, 2008: Another zombie broke in, but we fended it off again, at the cost of another survivor. Found several spray cans. At Nickols Drive, I spraypainted a joke onto a nearby wall, and laughed at an idiot trying to take the nickel.

May 10, 2008: Patrolled the block near my headquarters. Encountered survivors, and gave words of encouragements. On the way back, I ran into a zombie. Distracted by firing onto a tree, then blasting at it with another shot. As it staggered, I hightailed it back to the PD.

May 14, 2008: Due to increasing activities outside, someone overcaded the station. I went outside to fight zombies. After several grueling hours of firing, I went back to restock.

May 19, 2008: Light Master has been killed by a zombie, and will now seek vengeance on his own kind until he is revived. And then he will kill zombies again, so there's no point really on killing him, since he will still kill zombies.

May 27, 2008: Even though I am dead, I can still write in my journal, for some reason. I decided to kill all zombies, especially those who are standing in my office, rotting all over the place. Dammit, I got used to vigor mortis and attacked them.

May 28, 2008: Sometime earlier, a person by the name of maestra revived me. My station is ruined, and I am badly infected. I made it to the Burfield Motel to rest. I will soon look for a first aid kit when I am able. Sometime later, I jumped into the Blockridge Building, despite my injuries. I called out for help, seeing that it was a NecroTech Building. I will probably search for evidence, if I live.

May 29, 2008: Been killed by another zombie. Son of a B***H! I've just been revived!

May 31, 2008: Been shot in the head by Marcus Pren, the zombie hunter. Not his fault, probably. Now, its revenge time. Went back to the precinct and attacked the zombies there.

June 2, 2008: Been revived by DeathClaims yesterday. As I dust my arms from lying on the floor for an unamountable time, I've remembered yesterday was my birthday. What a nice present. Couldn't get in, so I lept from building to building, and entered my office.

June 3, 2008: Tried to ease up the seige at Dane Street Police Department, but with 24 zeds outside, I didn't like the odds. Instead, I distracted them from breaking in, and hopefully, the survivors have a chance to reorganize and repair the structure. I am infected, and hope I wouldn't die.

June 4, 2008: Killed the zombie inside Dane Street Police Department. I checked out the window, and saw more. I sighed, told the man good luck, and quickly left. Not much of a hero, but I am not willing to risk myself trying to kill 16 zombies.

June 5, 2008: A buddy named Strike11 came in, trying to kill a zombie. He ran out of strength and rested, while I took over. Despite my excellent marksmanship, I wasted three clips, three shotgun shells, and a flare gun, and still missed. WTF!?!?!?!

June 9, 2008: Some time ago, D K N Flesh destroyed the generator. Tried to find one, with no sucess. Damn GKers, they're just as bad as PKers.

The president said good luck with that, because they've stopped dropping generators to the city. I cursed, and the president reassured me that he will at least try.

June 10, 2008: Someone reinstalled the generator. Managed communications with the prime minister for a moment before leaving on a patrol duty. While looking around, I ran into a zombie. Tried to kill it, but was too strong, and I retreated. A survivor was a former construction worker, and taught me a little about construction.

June 11, 2008: Went on patrol. Sworn that the zombie I ran into is the same one. Shot it six times, two hits, and struck it with the fire axe, but the flack vest absorbed most of it, so I just left it there.

June 14, 2008: A zombie broke in. Someone managed to kill a zombie, but didn't have the strength to close the doors, so I did. I used a broken office door (forgive me, boss!), a bench, some broken vending machines, and another bench. Why did I do all the work?

June 23, 2008: The zombie threat was insurmountable. Crowbank is at threat level orange. Strike11 informed us that Dane Street PD has been taken, and are assaulting Burt Square. I went outside, shouted at the zombies for trying to get in, and started shooting them. After that, I went back in to prepare the barricades.

June 24, 2008: Last night, I've been killed by a zombie.

July 31, 2008: Still roaming around, killing zombies.

August 27, 2008: GODDAMMIT! Why the hell are people attacking me when I was just revived? You know what, all you zeds out there are dead. Again. I'll **** you up until you leave me alone long enough for me to play as a survivor. Damn, the president doesn't like it when he doesn't receive daily reports.

October 5, 2008: Slain again. Any zombie caught outside or inside Burt Square PD, I will kill, even as a zombie. I WILL kill all zombies in the area.
