As a military doctor, Leon Vulcan, M.D. has preserved his role among the survivors of Malton, providing intensive medical care to those in need. Before the tragic events of Malton began to transpire, Dr. Vulcan was stationed at the Fort Creedy infirmary as a fresh medical school graduate. When it was overrun by the dead and panicked survivors, Vulcan barely managed to escape. Thinking ahead, he filled a flak vest with surgical instruments, and continues to use them to this day.

Sometimes I wonder why I never give up. Military conditioning helps a bit, but I'm really just a resourceful guy who tries to stay alive. Sure, I help others once in a while, but Malton life is either staying with one group or fending for yourself. I really couldn't care less for orders, I don't see my former leaders helping me out. You'd be surprised how easy it is to send people to their deaths when you're sitting in a comfy office chair twenty miles away. I used to be called "Corporal", but that was before everyone under my measly command was slaughtered because nobody understood what was happening when we were first sent in. We weren't fighting soldiers, we were fighting what used to be civilians and our comrades. Relationships are hard to keep, because before you know it, your best friend is dead.

Leon Vulcan
