At 21, Skip joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served for 6 years in Afghanistan, reaching the rank of Sergeant. While on a patrol outside Kandahar, an IED exploded, destroying his lead Humvee. A piece of shrapnel tore through his body, just missing his vital organs. He was discharged soon after, during 2004. Civilian life never agreed with him, and he moved to Malton to live with his family. This was during 2006, just before the outbreak. Bad timing.

Skip found that he was skilled with radios and computers sometime during the 2nd year of the zombie outbreak. Since then, he has worked with many groups and founded a few of his own. Some of the groups he has belonged to include: Dartside Survivors, Lamport Hills Recon Squad, and Common Survival.<p>
