The name "thief" is misleading, as the MAT does not steal the art for his own use or sale. His objective is to take Malton's precious art and relocate it to a number of safehouses around the city until the outbreak blows over, so as to preserve these beautiful works for future generations. He also intends to spread the art around survivor hotspots, so that in the case of undead ransacking of vital cultural points, there will still be a fine cultural scene in the city.
Filled with Misanthropy at the disparate state of most of Malton's survivors, the Malton Art Thief has taken to occasionally slaying stupid survivors. Any incidences of trenchcoating, overbarricading or radio spam have been known to trigger his psychotic outbreaks. If survivors are smart, they get art. If not, they get axed.
