Merryweather Cinema is an old brick building with a bright, 70's era, neon marquee. The box office stand in between the two front doors, which have been barricade quite heavily. The marquee lists movies currently showing, including Blackula, Cannibal Holocaust, Evil Dead II and The Blob. The yellow and blue neon glow casts a series of eerie shadows all over the sidewalk.

Merryweather Cinema was originally opened in 1908 as The Harwyn Theatre. Specializing in vaudeville acts, The Harwyn was a very popular place to be in the until the early 30's. After the theater changed hands a number of times over several decades, it came into the possession of Stanley Merryweather. He renovated the theater and renamed it to the Merryweather Cinema, in the early 70's and began to run double bills with mixes of Horror, Science Fiction, Blaxploitation, Grindhouse, Schlock and Gore films.

Basic Info:

  • Cinemas are "shrouded in darkness" when unpowered.
  • Cinemas are Dark buildings.
  • In the presence of a fuelled portable generator, a Cinema's flavor text will change to one of the following:
    • "…a black-and-white drama film still looping silently on its main screen."
    • "…a recent horror film still looping silently on its main screen."
    • "…an old horror film still looping silently on its main screen."
    • "…a black-and-white documentary film still looping silently on its main screen."
    • "…a recent drama film still looping silently on its main screen."
