We are a fledgling group of green survivors, hoping to make a difference in Malton. Starting on the 2nd of the 2nd 2008, we plan to aid those in need, by keeping Zombies out of buildings where scared survivors hide. It will be a long and hard journey, but those under The Black Cross shall be protected.
The Journey
Venus Blue and Gabriella Rose began their stay in Malton, on opposite sides of the map. Venus in Molebank, and Gabriella in Penny Heights. Thus began their two day journey, in which they finally united outside Club Crook in Kempsterbank. They travelled together to find shelter, and upon hiding in Cread Boulevard School, Tapton, and founded The Black Cross.
The Mission
Although new to Malton, and the outbreak, The Black Cross is working hard to make a difference. Together, Venus and Gabriella will grow, and together they will strive and prosper. As the two increase their personal strength, they will seek to expand their numbers, and act as a shield to those who are in need.
The Leaders
New and fresh to this world, he has already seen alot of the damage the outbreak has delivered to the city of Malton. Being forced to sleep in ruined buildings for the first few nights of existance, he has been protected by the good will of others. This has inspired him to deliver the same kindness onto others in Malton. He created The Black Cross with Gabriella Rose, in hopes of establishing a roving force of survivors with the same good will he was shown during his first nights in this wasteland of a city.
Upon arriving in Malton, Gabriella Rose had no idea what she had gotten herself into. She trekked through the streets and found herself lost. While sitting down to collect her bearings, one of the Undead fell upon her. After a brief struggle, she brought her axe down into it's neck, and crushed it's skull under her foot. This shocked her into action and gave her the conviction she needed to help the weak and defenceless. And so, when she and Venus united, Gabriella had no second thoughts about creating The Black Cross.
Other Members
The last thing University student Adrian Black (aka. Black Adrian) expected was to end up fighting zombies, as evinced by the fact that in his last day before the Outbreak he was (and without a change of clothes, still is) wearing a badge that declared that Zombies were merely a political lie to make people do what the government wants. ('Zombies are propaganda').
Meeting a pair of survivors dedicated to improving the lot of people around them shamed Adrian into helping out any way he could. Currently his scavenging skills are the only recompense for having to listen to his tirades about how people are allowing the Zombie infestation to break their desire for self-improvement and philosophical evolution.
Shane O'Riley is a rookie Police Officer who had just finished his first day of work when the Outbreak began. O'Riley has been through alot and at 18 years old has experienced more then alot of people have in there entire life. O'Riley joined The Black Cross to help the survivors of the outbreak. He decided joining with The Black Cross would make these goals more of a possibility.
One of the first infected Ammanas spent months as a member of the horde. He remembers little of the time before the Revification, and is re-learning alot of things. He does vaguely remember attending a car accident, and scarring on his neck and shoulder shows evidence of his being bitten. Apart from the occasional night terrors, and a voice almost destroyed by disuse, it seems Ammanas could make a full recovery.
After coming home from the police academy to find her parents and siblings torn apart by zombies, L.P. picked up an axe and her fathers pistol and began to track down the creatures who murdered her family. It took her several months but she finally tracked the zombie band down. Without stopping to consider the fact that she was outnumbered, L.P. threw herself into a gruesome battle. Although she fought gallantly, she turned her back on one and was taken down and killed. About this time, Venus Blue had come across the scene and decided the girl showed potential. He waited for the band of zombies to leave the area and then revived the young woman, after which he proceeded to tell her about the "Black Cross".
Thinking about her family, L.P. decided that she wanted to hunt all zombies in order to help prevent an attack like that from happening again. After pledging her loyalty to the Black Cross, the leaders allowed her to join up. Since then she has had one purpose in life, to hunt zombies. She travels from town to town, honing her skills, and searching for survivors in need of aid. Although hardened by the world she knows, deep down there is still a part of the carefree girl that shines through every once in a while.
When the major outbreak happened, William was far away from Malton; the news came to him from a phonecall from his parents. The saddened voice of his mother begged him to help. He took one of the jets from the Airforce, and flew to his hometown, to find the place completely shattered and torn apart. He found the place where he lived the beggining of his life down on the floor, the last standing thing being the walking corpse of his brother. As soon as he noticed he couldn't help him, he shot a bullet into his brother's head, and burried his body under the crumbled house.
Many months and many fights later, he came accross a church. Even though he had never been very religious, he decided he should pray for his family. He saw an unusual symbol on the entry as he walked in: a Black Cross. This caught his attention, and he decided this must had been a signal, since his father wore a black cross. After a few days, he asked the leader of the Black Cross to join them, and now he is the keeper of the warehouse north of the three churches that belong to the BC.
The Operations
The Black Cross' new agenda, is to recruit willing members into their fold, spreading the word and good works throughout Malton. The plan is to have members work in pairs where possible, and for them to arrive in safe houses, providing supplies and respite to survivors inside. All will be protected Under The Black Cross.
The Home Base
Recently, The Black Cross has taken the Greentown entry point St. Gelasius's Church (35, 78) as their Home base. They will allow refuge and people to pass through here, as it is close to many useful buildings. Also, those seeking to be members of The Black Cross are encouraged to make the pilgrimage to St. Gelasius' Church, and make a request inside to another member of the cross, who will pass the message on to Venus Blue or Gabriella Rose. Uniform is a Crucifix Necklace.
The Incident Reports
7/02/08, 1600 hours. Swithun General Hospital, Tapton.
I was doing my rounds of the hospital, checking the entrances, when I noticed one of the windows barricades had been broken open. Following the smell I found the zombie approaching a room with sleeping survivors. Immediately notifying Gabriella Rose, and waiting for her to arrive, I calmly approached the zombie and stabbed it in the neck. Gabriella Rose finished it off by putting an axe through it's skull.
After I disposed of the body and closed the entrance, Gabriella checked on the residents in the Hospital, notifying me that none had been wounded or infected. We must have caught it early, and removed it like the rotten cancer it is.
Now I worry, as I cannot replace the barricades myself...

8/02/08, 2330 hours. Swithun General Hospital, Tapton.
We were serenaded by scratching from outside, as per normal tonight. However, the scratching was disrupted by shattering glass and a scream. One of the living dead had pulled Gabriella Rose out of a window. How it managed to breach the barricades I'll never know, they were tight!
I dove out after the fiend, and plunged my knife into it again and again, until it relinquished it's grasp on Gabriella. Luckily, she is never without her axe, and she made short work of it. She had a few minor injuries, which I attended to, and was found not infected. I have prescribed her bed rest for a few hours at least.
I'm worried... perhaps it was the same beast which Gabriella had killed earlier, and had been watching her through the barricades she had constructed earlier this evening, stalking her. This would explain how it found a weakness in the barricades. But how did it gain such intelligence? To act in a mediated manner?

5/03/08, St Gelasius's Church, Greentown.
It appears that we've come across a base of operations. Oh, I can't remember how long ago it was, a week or so, we travelled away from what seemed to be an impending wave of Undead, and those people we once helped in Swithun hospital locked the doors behind us, casting us out. Forgive them, they know not what they do.
It appeared to be a wise move to travel away, as fate would have it, many of the creatures fell upon Swithun hospitol, and survivors were eaten. We made our way to a series of churches, and took St Galesius as our home base. After setting up and organizing it all, I will be able to post more updates more regularly. Greenbanks is now under The Black Cross!
