The Malton Emergency Broadcast System, or MEBS, is a recently-implemented piece of the game. It wass hidden in an office building somewhere in Malton. This office building is now known to be The Coram Building.
The Creation of MEBS
As can be seen by searching for Emergency Broadcast System on the wiki, there have been many suggestions involving an Emergency Broadcast System for Malton. Some were good, some were bad, but ultimately, they were involved, however indirectly, in the creation of the MEBS.
Discovery
Announced in the News shows, the MEBS was implemented on Urban Dead's fourth birthday.
The existence of the MEBS was revealed on July 3rd. The MEBS was discovered by party/parties unknown between July 3rd and July 6th.. It is located in The Coram Building, which is in northwestern Lukinswood. According to an as yet unknown player, who it is assumed discovered the MEBS as well, "Searching the building revealed the room and also a powered down radio transmitter. Zombie attacks later destroyed the transmitter. The building was quickly recaptured and powered, but a new transmitter was needed."
The MEBS received a new transmitter in time to make what is believed to be the first transmission, a broadcast made by a player referring to themselves as "Skip" on July 20th. The broadcast reads as follows:
25.92 MHz "Greetings, this is a test of the Emergency Broadcast System."
25.92 MHz "Is anyone out there? Anyone at all? Am I alone in the world?"
25.92 MHz "If anyone out there is listening, good luck. -Skip"
Another Broadcast was made later, reading:
25.92 MHz "This is a waste of time."
Whoever first discovered the MEBS has not yet come forward and publicly announced it. Needless to say, many will claim the honor, but only one person will be able to claim the right of First Broadcast, the mysterious Skip.
There is speculation that The Rooster and Skip may be one and the same. This has not been confirmed true or false.
