In my pre-apocalyptic life I was a soldier. Since I had joint citizenship to both Russia and England, I was in both the Special Air Services and the Spetsnaz. I was very well trained in all areas in the military. I was eventually put into a special military group that maintained peace by doing the darker deeds no one else wanted. The group is probably gone by now because of the crisis which I suspect is global by now and not just occurring in Malton. The group was named The Shadow Company Elites. We would assassinate country leaders who most didn't like. We were responsible for one of the largest coupes in history which ended up removing multiple countries from the map and renamed a few others. Then we were sent onto a top secret mission.
While serving with the Rangers, he would accept the most dangerous assignments, seemingly unheeding of his own personal safety. His apparent need for a constant adrenaline rush concerned his superiors, who knew the Arctic Rangers existed in an unforgiving and merciless environment. Rufus accepted this and thrived, building up a rapport with his comrades. His loyalty caused problems however as he frequently fought on his fellow Ranger's behalf. When one of these fights left a superior in the hospital, Rufus was dishonorably discharged. Shortly afterward, he joined an outlaw biker gang known was the Wolfpack Brotherhood. Under his influence, the Brotherhood went from being a mild irritant to the Swedish authorities to becoming the home of the most wanted criminals of the nation. Rufus, himself, became infamous for his violent exploits and adrenaline-fueled stunts. He was eventually captured by the Swedish authorities, but never one to be chained down, he escaped.

There were reports of riots and viscous attacks on civilians. We were go in and clear out the riots. Kill anyone involved in the riot. We started out by landing on the border of the city. We made our way to the downtown area of the city staying out of sight of the rioters keeping to the rooftops and shadowy ally ways. We were equip to to take on an army. When we were all in position we didn't see a riot. We saw what looked like a protest of some kind. Yet there was something amiss. The supposed rioters were just swaying in the wind like they were sleep walking or something. Very few were moving and even few were doing anything other than what seemed at the time talking to the others.
After his escape he made his way to throughout all of the heavily militarized zones in the Middle East. He worked as a soldier for hire for whichever company paid him more. Whichever side paid more. He would often would switch sides if the price was right. He even would double cross and get paid double the money. He eventually started working for the Russians, under the control of a new dictator, to help over throw their government. The Allied Nations paid him more to stop the coup and keep the man in power. He single-handedly ended what would have been World War 3 by betraying the Russian general stationed in the area.

We watched for a few more minutes before we got a distress call from a CB radio yelling about how one of ''"them"'' got into the hospital. So we agreed and rushed to the hospital to see if we could help out. When we got to the hospital, it was boarded up. The door to the ER had been broken into. We followed blood stains and some but not a lot of bullet shells. We went to the Maternal Ward first to make sure everything was safe for the new mothers. One of the nurses there was petrified and told us what was going on. She told us that some of the people started to change. They would get angry and try and kill others. She told us anyone who was bit by the others would act like them.
Before the quarantine of Malton occurred, Rufus was dispatched to a country which almost all of the people on the planet know nothing about because it existed for all of three days. He was sent their to stop a local militia from performing a coup and overthrowing the government in power. What seemed like a local militia to outsiders was something entirely different to the locals. No one would enter the city. The police manned the exits to the city and wouldn't let anyone in or out. Rufus had no problem blowing right on by them. They didn't even follow him.

So a few of my men stayed there while the rest of us went to defend the building. It took us a while before we found a group of them in the OR feasting on one man who was under. We unloaded on them until they started to drop to the ground. We dragged their bodies out of the hospital, and burned them. We eventually cleared the building and had a huge bonfire going. We rested up and protected those in the Hospital while we were there. It was calm while we were in the hospital. No need to shoot, no need to kill, no need to waste our energy.
Well when he go into the city he saw that there was something wrong with those standing on the street. They seemed ravenous. They would attack any who were on the street. Rufus saw it long before he hit the center of the city. It was lost. There was something far worse than a coup happening here. The only thing he could do was call in the air strike to level the city and kill all those who inhabited it. He hoped that was the way to go about stopping the disease.

We resumed our mission and headed back to our spots. We were ready to clear out the downtown area and maintain peace and order. Then we saw something that horrified us. Among some of the people were burning people. They were walking around on fire as if nothing was wrong. Others would touch them and ignite. Buildings started to burn from the outside. The city eventually was all aflame and we had to retreat our grounds until the fires went out. Most of the ones who caught fire were finally dead and just a smoldering pile of bones.
With his knowledge of the disease, Rufus was asked to enter the quarantined zone to help out the forces stationed inside of the city. When they dropped him into the zone they only gave him a revolver and an extra clip of ammo. When he found out that almost all of the soldiers had been killed a long time ago, and those that have survived are working with the local militias. He decided to work with the local militias in an attempt to learn everything he could about surviving in Malton.

We eventually decided to execute the mission. We were tired, hungry, and aggravated at the city. We opened fire on anyone who was in the downtown area. Killing without discretion. We eventually emptied out the area. We lit the bodies for good measure and then radioed in for a helicopter.

Once we got back to the Head Quarters, they had us debriefed and rested. In that order, unfortunately for my men. The Head Quarters said they knew something worse than riots was what was going on, but they weren't sure what exactly. They figured it had something to do with the NecroTech Company and the break in they reported a week before. They never reported anything stolen or missing but The Shadow Company Elites weren't ones for trusting.

Since The Shadow Company Elites didn't exist the whole mission didn't exist. Which means the things everyone now call zombies, didn't exist. We eventually were dropped into Malton since we had the experience with handling the zombies. My squad lasted a while before being killed off or separated. We killed many zombies trying to quell the pandemic of Malton.[[Image:CursorBlink.gif| ]]</center>
He now seems to wander around the city looking for something to do. He hunts for the people who have wronged him and protects other survivors by watching their backs at night. He doesn't handle being attacked so well, so it's best not to cross him. He lives for danger and loves the thrill of adrenaline. He has worked with the best, and has been a part of some of the best work. Rufus Vanzant will leave an everlasting impression on the city.[[Image:CursorBlink.gif| ]]</center>
