Eldridge served as a Liutenant in the US Marines. He had never seen combat and was fresh out of Officer training.

His unit was being shipped over to the middle east to continue in the conflict and had stopped in England to refuel. Taking advantage of a few days of R&R, Eldridge traveled to Malton.

It was soon after the quarentine began. The Marine tried unsuccessfully to argue with the guards. Even stating that he would miss his ship and that they were heading for combat did not work. Threatening, pulling rank, nothing would work on the guards. The guards even went so far as to fire warning shots. That was the first time he were really scarred.

Taking refuge in a old hotel, they watched as the street turned into combat zones. Shots flew through the window. Seeing that the only availible hidout was a fire department, he grabbed an axe.

Eldridge found a group of survivors made up of experts from all fields (SWAT teams, Doctors, Royal Marines, Scientists, etc) that formed the Shades of malton. Seeing this as the best organized group he had yet encountered, he took an axe and began his career in Shades, working up to Administraor and Captain of the Home Defense Unit. Security being a priority, he spends his days working Security for the Shades HQ.
