Call to Arms

"My friends, my family, my fellow citizens of the once great city of Malton, lend me your ears.'

"For more then a year and half, we have been corralled together so that we might suffer as prisoners incarcerated. Where is our prison? In this ruined city we call home, that which is enclosed by the quarantine wall. The structure we have watched grow from simple road blocks, to barbed wire, to chain link, to the grand concrete walls topped with razor wire that it is today.'

"Two factions coexist here in the urban landscape left alone by outside influence. Though not in peace do they exist, but rather at a war which will only end upon the destruction of one of the factions. Who or what are these factions? We know them well. They are we the survivors and they the horde. They are our immediate threat, and within a moment would see us dead.'

"We watch as the seasons come to pass as our numbers thin while theirs, our enemy’s, grow larger and greater.'

"And it is so, in the wreckage and ruins of Malton, we live in constant conflict. We have by necessity, only concerned ourselves with only basic survival. It is for that we fight only for our basic right to life. As survivors we are a divided people spread out dotting the Malton map. In fortresses that were once the malls, we have built and formed city states. In these communities we have built new families, new lives, new existences. We put our fates into these communities. It is our new way of life in this prison.'

"The organized hordes at our door steps, grow in size and strength with each passing season. And it is one by one that the pockets of humanity fall to the hands of the undead, they the horde.'

"As each mall falls into the horde hands, it is only their greed for fresh flesh that they are driven away; not by our skill with knife, axe or gun. Their migration pattern allows us to slowly rebuild the destroyed city states anew. But I assure you that they will return in strength again. It may not be this season or the next; but they will follow our scent in the wind back to us.'

"To date, in the city of Malton, no group stands at the path of destruction to fight the zed where ever they may stand. Right now, no one will go to where the hordes are and fight. To help defend what ever city state is threatened by siege.'

"There was once a time, before the quarantine, each year in the start of winter. There was a day to mark the start of the holiday season. This day of days was known as Black Friday, the start of the holiday shopping season. It was a day where the malls were flooded by the populace.'

"To long has this day gone past unmarked, uncelebrated. Though now it is time be lived once more and celebrated in a fashion like never before.'

"It is to you that my call goes out, to you my friends, my family and my neighbors. I call you to arms against they that horde where ever they lay siege. I call you to meet them in battle at each city state. I call to you to celebrate Black Friday with me."
