'''Officer Haytons Journal'''
''Tue, March 31, 2009''
While looking through the old Burdett Way PD building during my stay here I found ths old dusty journal in one of the desks. Not surprised it has survived the countless looting this place must endure. After all looters only looks for ammunition for their guns and fresh flak jackets for their bodies, not dusty journals. Might aswell write an account of my journeys here in Malton so that if anyone finds my body in the future, they will know my story. God....this sounds like a cheap horror flik.
Anyways, first day of my journal but not my first day in Malton so where to start. The past is so hazed to me right now since so much has happened. I suppose my story started in about October 08 in the far north somewhere. I wandered around somewhat killing the undead until arriving in Vinetown in late December. Met some really nice people called M.E.R.C.Y. who aimed to preserve the survivor haven of Vinetown from the roving undead and mad PKers as they are called. Stayed there as a member of M.E.R.C.Y. which was my first ever group. Real nice folk they were but something called to me from across the borders of the suburbs, I believe it is called danger...
The RRF Culture Shock hit us fast and hard in February after Penny Heights fell. It was bloody but we fought hard to the last man but even with our combined efforts the hordes overcome us. After we recovered we began to rebuild but after the adrenaline gained from the Culture Shock something awoke inside of me. My purpose in life was never meant to be to heal people, it was to shoot, to kill, to take life. Not human life of course, but the life of the undead. To send them back to their graves where they belong. Thus, my time in Vinetown and M.E.R.C.Y. came to a close and a chapter ended. I headed West through suburbs very different from Vinetown. These were ruined, bodies littered the streets and the only people you saw were either the undead or the scum, people who only stabbed you in your back for your clothes and weapons. The only answer I gave them was a shotgun and a new face over.
So after wandering I came here and found this journal where I suppose a new chapter in my life starts. There are plenty of people here, two of which are looking for someone. They seem like nice folk but I know never to trust anyone plenty of times since leaving Vinetown. Out here it is a different story when you are alone without backup or a squad. Your only company is a gun to keep you warm and the cries of the dead to keep you awake.

While looking through the old Burdett Way PD building during my stay here I found ths old dusty journal in one of the desks. Not surprised it has survived the countless looting this place must endure. After all looters only looks for ammunition for their guns and fresh flak jackets for their bodies, not dusty journals.
