General Information
Gotch Plaza Police Department is one of three police stations serving South Blythville. Notable for its modern construction and spired roof, it sustained fire damage in the early stages of the Quarantine. This resulted in its temporary abandonment, but later on it served several times as the headquarters of District 1 of the South-Western Division of the Malton Police Department. However, a policy of Distributed Defense means that the station is not permanently manned.
Due to its proximity to Marven Mall, this building is barricaded as heavily as circumstances will allow. As a result, accessibility to less agile members of the public cannot be guaranteed. Any such person seeking access to a police station is referred to Lovelock Plaza Police Department, situated two blocks to the west.
History
Due to the expansion of southwestern Malton following the second world war, the police station at Lovelock Plaza was no longer adequate to the MPD's requirements. Accordingly, a larger and more modern police station was constructed at Gotch Plaza during the 1950s. It included space for vehicle storage and maintenance, a feature notably lacking in the late 19th-century Lovelock Plaza building.
The station's location would later make it extremely well placed for the purpose of providing policing to Marven Mall, as well as the various pubs and nightclubs which sprang up in the immediate vicinity.
Gotch Plaza was extensively renovated during the 1990s, and its exterior painted a light shade to give it a less grim appearance. New furnishings were installed on the interior, as well as the infrastucture necessary to properly equip the station with the information technology, notably a computer network, that the task of policing in the 21st century would require.
Current Situation
Gotch Plaza serves primarily as a perimeter strongpoint for Marven Mall, as it does not suffer from the lack of internal defensibility as its larger neighbor. As a result of the mall's proximity, the station's function as a resource point is secondary. Due to intense zombie activity, the station is exempted from the Uniform Barricading Policy, but is to be barricaded only to Very Strong when little or no zombie activity is present. When Zombie Presence is strong it is to be barricaded as heavily as possible. A fire occurred during the early stages of the Outbreak, destroying the vehicles and equipment housed in the station's garage, and rendering this section of the station unusable for its intended purpose. The burnt-out patrol cars now form part of a barricade across the garage entrance.

September 18, 2008 Can anyone here me, this trainee Miker. This is being broadcast on 28.06 MHz. We have 16 Officers and Civilians barricaded in here, it is holding at VSB with very little zombie activity. We have plenty of ammunition and supplies, this is a save spot for all survivors. Over. --Miker 02:34, 19 September 2008 (BST)
July 17, 2008 The building has been ruined by MOB and many ferals. 30 zombie squatters are inside. --FLZombie 04:51, 17 July 2008 (BST)

April 17, 2008-4:31 PM (EST)
One of the last survivor havens still safe in South Blythville. At least 50 survivors inside, and several zeds outside. Not a full seige, but it may soon become one unless we force the zeds out of South Blythville. --John Kingston, 20:31 (GMT)
April 6, 2008-12:00 PM Houston, we have a zed sleeping in the building. Otherwise safe to use.--Pistolieer 18:00, 6 April 2008 (BST)

March 29, 2008 - 7:00PM The police station is under siege. Last visit there was 21 zombies outside. Barricades still holding. Still a good access point for the mall. -- ZombieKiller202
March 05, 2008 - 6:52PM (EST) Gotch Plaza PD has fallen, last of the survivors have fled. I . . . mm . . . static - Gotch Police Dept. Defender
March 05, 2008 - 6:27 (EST) The barricades have fallen, 52 zombies inside, remaining survivors either fled or sleeping. Defenders of the mall sitting idly by, huddled in NW corner. 170 survivors sit idly by in NW corner, directly next to the station, watching it's defenses fall. Poor fools...they will do their damndest to lead Marven Mall like lambs to the slaughter. And yet, I stay, in certain death, with the battle cry; Ils ne passeront pas! They shall not pass! The defenses of Monroeville Mall must be rallied, presently, if we wish to have hope. -Robert Hays, Marven Mall occupant
March 05, 2008 - 3:00 (EST) Gotch Police Dept is in trouble. The barricades are not holding, there are frequent break ins. A mass of at least 130 zeds are outside. As the survivors in Gotch fight, the ones in Marven mall stand idly by, watching, but not willing to send assistance. If they continue so, Marven mall would be surrounded & it will undoubtedly fall. PD has been over barricaded to heavy, there appears to be no sign of needing to do this, only a slight zombie activity in the surronding area (one or 2 zeds dotted around)
