The article as it is currently implies that the autoupdating lists (as described there) actually work with UDtool. As far as I know, that only works with UDwidget. I'm going to have a go at changing the article to make that clear, and I'll add a link to my explanation of how to have an autoupdating tool with UDtool on Linux. Since UDwidget doesn't work on Linux, Linux users are actually stuck with the obsolete UDtool.
