| He had been moving to try and get out of the city the day the quarantine took affect. They were supposed to get a ride out but the car never came. He was only fifteen and couldn't drive and his sister, only a few years older, didn't have her own car. They decided to walk, hiding in buildings as they needed, to the evacuation center.

| They walked for hours until they were just too tired. Only a little while away they decided to sleep in a ruined building. While soldiers that was there walked by shooting at zombies, they tried to sleep.

| About half way through the night the military started mortaring the city. The explosions started a very blocks away. With each shot the explosions came closer. As they were leaving the building it got hit. The walls started to crumble and eventually the roof caved in. Sam got trapped while his sister was able to get free.

| He doesn't know what happened to him or his sister after that moment because everything went black. It seemed like only a minute, but he had been in a coma for almost five years. Now he is on a search in the city for his sister hoping to one day reunite with her.
