The cult begins with our founder, the great prophet Saul D'Alessio and the unveiling of the Unseen Ones which occured during the outbreak. The outbreak began when the Chosen unleashed their foul power unto the resting dead and awoke them from their slumber. Now the dead are driven into mindless destruction by the Chosen and are forced to fight against the Unseen Ones. Even the most valiant zombie hunter can fall prey to the power of the Chosen.

Seeing the Unseen

Before the outbreak Saul had a dubious history of gambling, drinking and was in heavy debt. He was attacked by zombies and managed to escape into a deep forest. Alone, mortally wounded, and lost, Saul wandered through a dense forest for several days, surviving on only roots and berries. On the fourth day, delirious with hunger and pain, Saul emerged from the trees to see what he thought was a hallucination—a city of massive towers reaching into the heavens. The architecture was astounding, and the creatures who lived here were unlike any he had ever seen. Walking down into their city, Saul got a closer look at the denizens of this place. They were tall and thin with skin the color of golden ore. When they walked, their feet seemed not to touch the ground, and when they spoke, it was the most melodious sound he had ever heard. Surely these creatures were the stuff of divinity. Hungry, wounded and exhausted, his clothes ragged and dirty, Saul dropped to his knees and touched his forehead to the ground. He had found his gods, and they in turn had found their most devoted disciple.

Healed by the Unseen

The Unseen Ones, kind and benevolent, healed Saul body and soul and he returned to Malton a changed man. His rags had been replaced with a sleeveless, pure-white robe embroidered with golden thread. His once sunken, sickly features were again full and healthy. He no longer craved the bottle, no longer wished to strike it rich gambling and was no longer defenseless prey for the zombies. His life had purpose. He had returned to spread the word, to deliver his finding to the humans of Malton.

The Work of Saul

Upon returning to Malton Saul headed straight for Gulsonside and declared St. Lazarus's Church to be the first Church of the Unseen. He also dedicated the Gurney Park to the Unseen as a reminder of the forest where he found the Unseen. These two sites become extremely sacred and were blessed by the power of the Unseen. As such they are under constant threat by the Chosen. Finally Saul headed to St. Matthew's Cathedral. He noted it's similarities to, what he called the "Temple of Tolerance" which he saw in the City of the Unseen Ones. A temple signifying the importance of tolerance but also showing us that while we must learn to tolerate those who are merely different and misunderstood we cannot tolerate those who have given themselves to evil. It is said that an Unseen Ones manifested itself before Saul and his companions. What passed between prophet and god is not known but Saul dedicated the Cathedral to the service of the Unseen and named it the Temple of the Unseen. This site is extremely sacred and must never be defiled.

Saul continued to travel all over Malton. He spread the word with the books he wrote and the scriptures he received from the Unseen. Although he fought valiantly Saul was sadly killed in a fight with a horde of zombies and whereabouts is now unknown. He is no doubt enslaved to the Chosen along with many other citizens of Malton.

The Cult Today

Even though the great prophet is gone the cult continues to do his work: spreading the word of the Unseen Ones, fighting the Chosen and defending the Unseen Ones and their sacred sites from the foul Chosen. We know that the war against the Chosen can be won and the Unseen Ones must be the victors. Only by believing in the Unseen, paying homage to them, defending their sacred sites and doing the work of the great Saul can we hope to achieve salvation and only by the guidance can we hope to escape the horror that has prevaded Malton.

We must fight with our last breath for Malton and for the Unseen Ones.
