| The 3RD SOG or 3Rd Special Operations Group is a specialist unit comprised of both military and civilian personnel. They have operated in Malton since the outbreak began. They were one the first units sent to the city to assist the local authorities with containing the outbreak.

| Initially succeful in evacuating the much of the local populace, the 3RD SOG was hit hard and almost destroyed in one of the early zombie horde rampages. The city had at that point been completely sealed off and supplies were running low. Contact with HQ had been lost by that time as well. The then current Leader, Major Tam Patterson made a decision that would haunt him until his death at the claws of the undead.

| Major Patterson decided at that point to temporarily disband his personnel. The members were to split up and assist the people of Malton as best they could, They were to search for and mark the locations of potential bases, weapon depots and staging areas.

| the members were also advised to join various other groups so as to learn new tactics for dealing with the walking dead. The members would be recalled at a future point to reform.

| The 3RD SOG's established mission is the preservation of life inside of Malton during the quarantine. Originally they were to evacuate the citizenry but after the city was sealed the parameters changed to thier current one.

| Secondary objectives for the unit includes establishing alliances with like minded groups, assisting survivors in maintaining secure bases, reviving those who seek it, redeveloping communications through out the city and the elimination of those who prey on other survivors.

| The unit is currently being reformed in the suburb it originally arrived in, New Arkham. Knowing that New Arkham has established groups within it that provide defense for the populace and buildings the 3rd SOG wished to open discussions these groups to provide mutual defense for the area.
