This journal is a documentation of my experiences in the city of Malton. I hope that it reaches out to those who read it as I fear my life is in constant jeopardy. It’s been an interesting few days as I embark on a solo journey. I’ve been spending my time keeping warm in different buildings, at first I couldn’t get access to several entrances so I attempted striking through the different barricades with my axe only to no avail. I then came up with a strange idea while looking at the sky in disappointment. As I gazed above I noticed the heights of the buildings and thought “Man, if I was a bird I could just fly from one rooftop to another… wait a minute…” I decided to perform an act that was very stupid… I snuck inside of one accessible building and made my way to the rooftop. I ran as fast as I could (daringly) to the end of the roof and jumped… My body flew through the air and I managed to grasp a hold on the adjacent rooftop. I was scratched up from doing this activity but alas I made it. I have been using this same process for some of the buildings as a fast travel to get around Malton City. So far I have been successful… I can’t say that it will be in the future… Out of the buildings that I have done this with included a hospital called St Agatho. The inside of the hospital was desecrated as the hospital emergency was also in disarray. I came across the emergency backup generator with a fuel gauge reading of low… Above it however, on the wall it stated “Out of order! Head North!” …………………………………. Before all this took place I remember I was at the Church with Erich. He told me that he couldn’t find Derek but has heard him through the radio. I guess Derek was looking for supplies and would return eventually? I suggested to him that we would officially call this location our home and form a group that tries to help others. Erich agreed but suggested a future vote when Derek returns… Anja was still with us and told us that Katthew and Blades were in the area. That it was a good location to have as a safe haven for now. She also installed a radio transmitter for us in order to find Derek. Her main purpose in all of this was to find Blades… Later in the evening a man named Jack arrived for safety while Anja decided to split ways. She told us that she was heading towards Crowbank because it became a peaceful ground. We than thanked her for the company and wished her well on her travels. I also remember that a zombie started thrashing at our barricades and made an entrance at night. I attacked the zombie and killed him, to dispose of the body outside. This process made me concerned for our own safety, I barricaded up the church and l headed out on my own journey. You have Free Running (Can move between adjacent buildings without stepping outside.) --Nursefighteradam 20:08, 5 February 2014 (UTC) Entry #13 Entry #13 Strange Days… As I continued roaming this desolate city I have ended up with blood on my hands. I recently fell from a rooftop at a research facility while removing some of the plague that rots the city streets. In a desperate act of survival I approached a hospital in order to gather supplies; in doing so I stumbled upon some books on pathology which I take with me to further study. Out of this world of death I find this shred of hope, written in torn pieces of paper, encased within a textbook… I have arrived back at my stronghold only to find it empty once again. This very place used to be housed by my group, as an attempt to stabilize my concerns I went out to find its members. Incidentally I found Erich wounded, hiding in the darkness of a club. My tome provided him with new health techniques that I used for his damage. Erich told me that he was hiding away from the hordes as they took over our home. Recently they had left; we both headed back in order to secure it and protect it. During our quest we discussed our concerns about Derek as we pondered his existence, was he alive? Or did they get him too? In the evening a new face came to me without words… This figure shot me in my body… I bled so much on the floor while clutching my stomach in order to prevent the contents from slipping out of its cavity. This figure continued to fire again relentlessly at my dying frame… I was then dragged into the street against the concrete and left to face my demise... I felt ill, faint and fatigued from the attack. So sick that my skin made me crawl and I came down with some type of illness… I noticed that my body was slowing down; ceasing up… It took only a few minutes. After, I had fallen into a *deep sleep*, I awoke with a strange hunger. There was a twisting of my stomach contents and thirst. I looked down at my body in utter shock as I could see my once pink skin turned a colour of ashen. I could see down at my wound which miraculously had healed. I couldn`t enter the church after dragging my body upright and fighting against the barricades keeping me out. It`s as if I couldn’t cognitively function…almost Neanderthal. I could hear groans that seemed so close to me and when I turned to look there wasn`t anyone there. A sharp stab to my side occurred as I gazed to my right side. A man was there holding a syringe with this maleficence gaze. Being unable to communicate my thoughts to words, I proceeded to collapse once again on the sidewalk from where I came. Only to awaken as if this all was a dream. First Aid (Player is able to heal an extra 5HP when using a first-aid kit.) Diagnosis (The HP values of nearby survivors are displayed next to their name.) --Nursefighteradam 23:23, 11 February 2014 (UTC) Entry #14 Entry #14 "Coil Snake"… I recently have discovered a familiar face today, although they do not recognize themselves… There was a man I knew back when I worked for the prison, he was in the locked up unit for quite some time while I was starting my career. I never knew much about him at first though the guards would warn me on a constant basis. They gave him the nickname of “Coil Snake” which I questioned during my interactions with them. I was told that they gave him this nickname because he would spend his time in solitary confinement curled up into a ball on top of the mattress and has a unique (to put it lightly) past. I learned about it, not through the guards but by stumbling upon some files that were scattered across the prison floor while working a late shift. His real name was blanked out with black marker on all of the papers with the only identification being the nickname that I heard next to it in red ink. I decided to pick it up off of the floor and bring it to my office. The more that I read of the information the more I cringed… “Coil Snake” was incarcerated a long time ago as a child, being one of the youngest prisoners in Malton’s justice system. He was committed for severe mental illness and it was difficult to provide him with treatment options. The writings contained that his father was a public figure while his mother predominantly raised him. I saw several photographs of his mother included within the data. She had scars all over her body, recent bruises and multiple fractures. She was also admitted to the hospital many times in the past with an extensive medical history. As I continued to turn the pages, I noted that his father was arrested and prosecuted for abuse. “Coil Snake” was also prosecuted for murdering his father, mother and sibling at the young age of 8 and sent for medical treatment in a psychiatric facility within Malton. “Coil Snake” was found to be withdrawn during therapy according to numerous psychologists. As time progressed it was noted that his father was an authoritarian at home with his wife. His father had several violent episodes; the end result would be the hospital visits and the increased medical bills. “Coil Snake” revealed during his treatment sessions that he couldn’t handle his mother’s weakness. He couldn’t stand his mother for being “weak” and vulnerable to his father. He strangled her with a telephone cord and went after his father with a kitchen knife. He was later seen by authorities while walking down the street caked in blood. The police were naturally concerned and took him home where they witnessed the crime scene. Authorities put “Coil Snake” into a mental facility for treatment, which he has been subjected to for a prolonged period of time. During further examination of the crime scene it was revealed that his mother was pregnant. “Coil Snake” did not have any recognition of this fact until the age of 10. He became further regressive as he aged and displays signs of remorse for his sibling, although he shows extreme hostility to topics concerning his mother as she is seen to him as being “inferior”. One psychologist stated that he witnessed the patient consume his own feces, state that he was a god and that he aggressively resisted communication. Other times it was noted that he would be solemn and start crying by himself and when approached he would than resort to violence… His diagnosis include: -Bereavement and guilt issues due to death of his sibling - Oppositional defiant disorder - Schizophrenia - Retrograde amnesia -Regression to childish behaviour, suppresses what happened to him -Believes his own bodily products promote life with the rationalization that his sibling existed inside of his mother (however he psychologically suppresses this reasoning) --Nursefighteradam 03:13, 16 February 2014 (UTC) Entry #15 Entry #15 Area Update It’s been awhile since I had left my home within Buttonville, I felt I had to… I came to this realization after some events have started to take place within the area of the church. Derek himself has been missing for quite some time and I fear the worst has happened. Erich was brutally murdered, a man named Jack that we both met was also killed, and I have been warned by other survivors that I had come across in Buttonville that survivors have been running around executing one another in this madness. I have seen flares being shot off in the night sky and come to the realization that they themselves cannot be trusted. There are three key rationalities that come to mind on the topic: 1: It seems to be a source of attraction for the zombie hordes 2: Some murderers will fire off flares and wait for easy prey to arrive in order to obtain supplies 3: Many of the flares that are shot off happen to have vacant locations As I roamed the streets I noticed that many of the buildings are not able to be entered, the doors are jammed shut from the materials that line the other side. As a result from this I have seen some people who are running from the creatures get killed within the city streets. I have been attacked and infected several times… However, I still wonder about the chemical compound that is used as I have been injected on several occasions by people I do not know which has saved my life. I wonder about this *disease* because it seems not only to come from the zombies bite but the streets themselves. When you are injured bad enough the disease itself will seep into the body and cause dysfunction. There have been some episodes where I have tried to control it, it gets harder the more times I am infected to control it. The last time I was infected I felt like I was a third party inside my own body. I would be roaming the streets without my own control, as if instinct had taken over. I saw Erich in one particular situation and I prevented myself from attacking him but it was too difficult to subside. I was not in control as much as I wanted to be. I cannot say the next time that I will be able to hold *it* back. This is another reason why I had left; I cannot be safe around others especially in a hostile area. I will be infected and I fear that I will hurt those who I have helped. The place I lived was destroyed when I went back to visit it, to find Erich and others. There wasn’t anyone there except for destroyed walls, broken statues and bloodied décor. I can say this however; out of all the negative going on within Buttonville when I had left I discovered a new skill and gathered many supplies for helping heal others. I broke into a hospital, dragged some dying bodies onto gurneys and started my own experimentation. I wanted to get better at helping others and through crude methods I perfected the art of performing surgical procedures. I had some time on my hands, so I used it constructively. What else do you do in a world that is so overrun by things trying to kill you? Unfortunately I haven’t found answers to many of my questions. I am not a geneticist, biologist, pathologist or a doctor. I’m even sure that this situation goes up and above their knowledge base regardless. If anyone finds this journal, I want them to know that there is still hope, to be very careful and heed my words. If you can find somewhere to stay for the night do so. The alleyways and streets are not a good sanctuary for rest. Do not trust others, everyone has gone mad or has their own purposes. Overall, be safe… You have Surgery (Player can heal a further 5HP if working in a hospital with power.) --Nursefighteradam 15:32, February 19, 2014 Nursefighteradam (UTC) Entry #16 'Entry #16 Between Worlds I awakened on the boulevard petrified as I entered into consciousness. When I eyed down at my frame I perceived the gore on my hands and the skin on my fingertips. All about me were beings of the< deceased as I ran in a fright to escape their haunting existence. All I can recall is that I was in a shopping precinct, probing through the stockpiles with a crowd of haphazard people. It must have been there that I turned? As I settle about the idea… I reminisce that I was in a hunting supply store scrambling about for munitions. I can notice that my pockets are filled with bullets as a shotgun is strapped to my back. One of the folks within the mall was critically injured, I believe that I helped patch him up… the recollections are so jumbled together… I also remember being in a part of a building with a blackboard… …a school… …it must have been… It wasn’t at the mall where I provided medical attention; it had to be at the school… As I continue to ponder and put the pieces of the puzzle back together I become further startled. I was confronted at the mall while helping other toughies fight off the massive amounts of ravenous zombies. One of them broke in through the mall entry, smashing the glass of the anterior doors. I recollect that he started swinging his arms and gnashed his teeth as others like him began to flood in. Everyone was going to pieces which followed quickly by the sound of gun fire, the sight of axes and knives being swung through the air…anything for them to survive. It was then that I was pushed onto the ground and overwhelmed by one of the deceased. Only then to rise up and become one…. The events that happened afterwards I have difficulty obtaining from my memory. I am currently at a repair shop with a similar name to the place that my mother grew up.
