A gaunt, hard-bodied police lieutenant, covered in weapons and several layers of heavy clothing to fend off the cold. Particularly eye-catching is a pair of massive Colt Pythons riding on his hips, and a wickedly sharp fire axe slung across his back. His face is hidden behind a heavy, black gas mask, and his clothes are spattered with gore and blood that is not his own.

Lt Wood is a police officer local to Pashenton; although originally he was born in Australia. Before the disaster he often patrolled far and wide across Malton, deliberately seeking out trouble spots, and rushing to distress calls, regardless of his assigned patrol areas. This often led to Wood being caught in the thick of trouble, and caused no end of friction with his superior officers. Nonetheless he received several awards of bravery, and eventually reached the rank of Lieutenant after being wounded whilst bringing a bank robbery shootout to an abrupt end; his fifth serious injury in the line of duty.

After the disaster his activites were confined to his resident suburb, Pashenton, where he participated in the original organized police defenses. He became isolated after attempting to rescue several people trapped in the upper floors of an apartment block. A gas leak caused the entire building to explode into flames before he reached it. For hours he stumbled from block to block, each time attempting to save innocents and having them snatched away at the last moment. Exhausted, when he attempted to regroup with his fellow officers, he found a hive of zombie activity. Since then he went rogue; avoiding major zombie activity by working mostly alone, having already learned large groups attracted the undead like flies to their rotting flesh. Eventually, he regained the courage to attempt to save others, now armed with the skills and knowledge to combat the shambling hordes. Once again he is like the police officer that earned the reputation of a loose cannon; roaming about Pashenton for where the fighting is thickest. His tattered police uniform is now a badge of pride to him, and he carries on with his duties to protect the innocent with reckless abandon. Death means nothing to him, zombies snarl his name with vitriol and hate, and whenever a helpless victim cries for help, the gleam of his guns and his axe will not be far away.
