Description
History
The church was named after St. Irenaeus, a second century bishop and disciple of St. Polycarp, whom St. Polycarp's Church were named after. Irenaeus is recognized as a saint by both the Roman Catholic church and the Eastern Orthodox church. St. Irenaeus wrote the book Against Heresies, which contained many of Irenaeu's theories about Antichrist and the number 666.
