Mornington News and Danger Levels
9-10-07 My apologies...I should have been more specific with my complaints. I was not upset with the danger level edit or the military update, what upset the people in Mornington (I make the edits for the group after discussing with them) was the fact that someone deleted all the groups in the area and just the basic information, not that it is a BIG deal, but it is time consuming enough posting all of the usual updates, and the other 2 boards we maintain for the area without having someone who probably doesn't even live in the suburb erase our group information and items that take a little time to add to the page. We all live in Morninton and there are not a lot of people in the suburb, so we are pretty sure it was done by someone who doesn't even live there. But you are right, it was petty, just pisses us off when people edit things that have to do with our group when aren't even in our group...
Your responnse in the Mornington news... that's not the way to do things...
It's not your wiki, it's everyone's wiki... Anyone can make changes, you don't own the pages. And, if you have a problem with anything that's posted to the wiki, then please talk to the person who made the changes first, don't just freak out... And then go change something which more than one person has agreed is valid...
Anyway, you should give some evidence or argument to demonstrate that Mornington isn't a ghost town... Or, you know, if you're hiding, maybe you should have STAYED HIDDEN and simply not got yourself involved in a wiki edit war... --WanYao 18:34, 7 September 2007 (BST)
- another quick note... External_Military reports are a game feature implemented by Kevan last month... They're considered unbiased, which is why some have resulted in danger status changes... And, frankly, according to the report, Mornington **is** a ghost town... everything sacked... "no signs of life"... less than 40 zeds... yeah... let's not have a war, i'm not trying to start one, just trying to set the record straight... --WanYao 18:58, 7 September 2007 (BST)
Mornington Groups
I noticed your edit to the Mornington groups template. This page shows the guidelines behind the formatting of those templates, and #2 is the formatting guideline that applies in your case. I just wanted to point out why it was the way it was. For now, I've reverted the edit so that your group is consistent with all of the other groups in all of the suburbs. Truth be told though, I'm actually looking into the possibility of revising the system a bit (after getting input from others, of course), and I think that guideline might be one of the ones that should go, since I don't much care for it either. —Aichon— 15:56, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
- Just wanted to get back to you and let you know that the guidelines have been changed so that the "The" doesn't have to come at the end any longer, so it's been put back to the way you had it. —Aichon— 02:10, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Wiping content
Please be careful not to wipe useful content off community pages like suburb or locations pages. If you don't understand how to fix something, ask someone who does -- boxy talk • teh rulz 00:05 11 December 2009 (BST)
