Description

Chancelwood's only church, St. Timothy's lies to the very south of the suburb, on the border to Raines Hills.

History

Despite being built as a community centre to support the neighbouring St. Anastasius's Church, the building plan was changed on account of extensive water damage at St. Anastasius's. While worship was suspended at St. Anastasius's Church, prayer was carried out across the road in the new building, soon christened St. Timothy's Church. Despite the repair and subsequent reopening of St. Anastasius's Church, the residents of Chancelwood apparently liked having a proper, registered church in the suburb and so St. Timothy's remained as it was. The lack of a seperate manse for the young church may seem odd but luckily there was no requirement for one - one minister serves both the churches, giving a service in each on alternating days of the week.

Barricade Policy

This building should be kept Very Stongly Barricaded.
