Just wanted to let you know that I checked on your IP address (standard practice when a brand new user shows up and immediately votes on something, since we want to make sure someone isn't trying to sneakily vote a second time), and it turns out that a computer at your address has been seen talking with the Zeus botnet within the last four hours, which means that someone at your IP address is infected with malware. More importantly, the Zeus botnet is designed to capture your login information and account details from banking websites, so if you've logged into one of those from the infected computer, your login credentials have been compromised. You might want to check on that. Since IP addresses are treated as confidential on the wiki, I can't share a link directly to the report that I found on your computer (after all, the link would have your address in it), but if you want to see that report, punch your IP address into this page and it'll bring up the details. —Aichon— 19:16, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
- Hey thanks for the heads up! As it happens I log in from a near-campus cafe and someone at this IP address might have malware. Fortunately, I am rather notoriously paranoid about money on the internet so anyone waiting to hack my online bank account is going to be disappointed. I will also disinfect my computer just to be sure. Again, thanks for looking out!
Welcome!
