Recruitment
The Barnerd Way Police Department are always looking for those looking to protect the citizens of Kempsterbank. As such, there aren't many restrictions on who can apply to be an officer of the Barnerd Way Police Department.
We accept most anyone with any professions, be it in medical, military, scientific or even none at all. Whether you have become whittled down into a veteran of Malton and it's unfortunate situation or if you still feel very new to it all. If you are willing to do your part and protect the citizens of Kempsterbank, then we will most likely accept you.
Player Killers, generator killers, or members part of a pure zombie group with the intent to take over Malton in some way, be it partial or full, will not be accepted into the group. However, those that have given up such things listed above, will be able to join as long as a member of the Barnerd Way Police Department who is in good standing, will vouch and take responsibility of the potential recruit.
Lastly, we are in Kempsterbank, and this suburb of Malton is also being protected by the Knights Templar. If the situation requires it, the Barnerd Way Police Department will gladly aid and work with the Knights Templar, thus meaning that enemies of that group, or those who do not feel they can work with them properly, should reconsider applying.
NOTE: When accepted into the Police Department as an officer, you will be first assigned to the Patrol and Reconstruction Squad. This is by no means permanent and you will be able to request a transfer if that is what you wish.
Duties
As with most groups in this post-apocalyptic city, Barnerd Way Police Department has it's own roles within the Department. The current branches and officers participating in these are listed and described below.
Medical Care Unit - These officers deal with the unlucky yet lucky survivors that have had a run in with a hostile and lived. They may have to deal with multiple and sometimes very different injuries, like bullet wounds, minor lacerations or burns. Focusing mainly on keeping fellow officers and the public in good health rather than the containment of the undead horde.
Current Medical Staff Members are:
Donnel Udina - MIA
Emergency Resurrection Response Unit - These officers are those that deal with casualties that do not stay dead. These may be infected individuals who still retain enough of their mind to make their way to marked spots, hoping for the chance to live again. It is the Revival Officers responsibility to ensure those who are brought back from the dead, are citizens, allies or officers of the law, and not potential threats. These officers are the ones who maintain the main revival points of Kempsterbank, located in Ebbutt Road, or the wasteland just west of the Police Department.
Current E.R.R.U Officers are:
John01 - MIA
Patrol and Reconstruction Squad - These officers are the backbone of the police force. They are tasked with keeping Kempsterbank safe, through most means possible. They are to protect citizens at all costs, by destroying the undead and reclaiming key buildings. They may also be tasked with noting possibly player killers, and either taking them out, or updating the Department of their position.
Current P.R.S. Officers are:
Lucky Strike Mike - MIA
Shadoch - MIA
Ninjahzzzz - MIA
waferelite
Reconnaissance and Intelligence - These officers deal with the problems that arise in Kempsterbank. Whether it is a building broken into by the undead, or a new player killer has been reported, it will be the R&I Officers job to spread the news and keep other officers updated with such news. This could be through any way they can find, whether it is spreading the news by travelling to other buildings, or broadcasting them on the transmitter. They will also be tasked with maintaining Status Reports and the Crime Reports page
Current R.I. Agents are:
Yorkh - MIA
Recruitment Center - These officers are in charge of keeping the number of new officers growing, and making sure they settle in to their new career. These will be the ones to go to for advice, and the ones who will invite you to the force. They will be the first to help the newer recruits, and it is essentially up to them how the Police Department grows.
Current Recruitment Officers are:
Sergeant - These are the people who organise the Department on the day to day basis, be it a new barricading policy, or resolving a technicality. These officers are the ones to be level headed, for they get the last say when they say. These figures of authority should be respected, and listened to. It is rare to see many sergeants, due to the authority they have over the officers, and is normally limited to one sergeant per branch. Specialist sergeants are mainly in charge of their respective branch. For example: A Medical sergeant will be able to focus and organise relief efforts for the public, while a patrol sergeant can guide patrol officers to locations they may be more useful.
Current Sergeants are:
Lieutenant - The Lieutenant was recently re-introduced as the numbers of the Barnerd Way Police Department began to flourish. At the top of the hierarchy, they are the leaders. Their authority is paramount, and when they speak, others will listen. But such an officer does not lead through fear - but rather, respect. As it stands, there will only be one Lieutenant at any given time, for their authority is something that should not be commonplace. They are experienced, they know the situation that has fallen upon them, and they are ready to act.
The Current Lieutenant of the Barnerd Way Police Department is:
Please note, that though some of these roles are dedicated, adaptability and diversity are key to survival. Therefore it will not be frowned upon that a patrol officer gives medical treatment to a citizen, or revives a member of the undead. Nor will it be discouraged that a medical officer reports on a player killers status, or helps secure a fallen building. Though they should be specialised in their given role, officers are encouraged to be proficient, if not efficient, at any other role(s) they wish.
Crime Report
The Barnerd Way Police Department contain their own record of crime that has been reported. As of [TBA] the Police Department will now be taking note of those who have been reported of committing crimes and/or are part of a Player Killer group.
Barricade Policy
Though subject to change when the situation requires, there is a general policy about barricade levels in the Barnerd Way Police Department. As follows:
If there are less than three standing zombies, the barricades shall be set at VSB
If there are three, or more than three standing zombies, the barricades shall be set at EHB
If there are more than five bodies outside the Police Department, the barricades shall be set at EHB
