Players with the Surgery Skill can heal for 15 HP if the Hospital has a fueled up Generator. Hospitals are listed as Tactical Resource Points. Hospitals can be barricaded normally. Among the internal descriptions found in Hospitals: "...its wards and corridors blackened with the soot of a recent fire" "...its empty wards criss-crossed with snapped quarantine tape." "...one of the city's psychiatric hospitals." "...dark corridors leading through abandoned wards." "...its emergency room in disarray." "...its lobby covered with quarantine posters." Description

The Catherine, pre-zombies.

large white-stone building surrounded by a large paved plaza. It was one of the last to be evacuated, and seems to have been cleared out in a hurry. The Catherine General Hospital is a Victorian 'cottage hospital'. It is right next to a NecroTech front, The Moseley Building.

History

The Catherine was built in 1859 as a 'local hospital for local people'. With just 25 beds, it had a friendly community atmosphere where everyone knew everybody else. Its benefactor, Catherine Fitzwell, bequeathed her fortune to the hospital, ensuring that it was able to provide free healthcare to Stanburyites in straitened circumstances right up until the outbreak.

With the rapid influx of zombified hordes, however, the hospital was unable to cope. The staff were consumed by the workload and fell prey to stress-related ailments; as one doctor commented, "This zombie plague is eating me up - literally. I'd give my right arm to help - oh look, I just did."

2020
