A great Republic, a great people, and a strong countenance is paramount to the survival of humanity against the zombie apocalpyse. Thus by the wisdom of the consulate, a new Roman Republic must be founded on the rule of old in order to ensure a prosperous and peaceful existance. In honor of the glorious age of Romulus and Remus, this Republic must be established to preserve the human race and successfully issue in an era of Pax Romana over the wastelands of Malton.

I. In the finest tradition passed down from the days of Romulus and Remus, the Republic is to ruled over by two co-Consuls, who by the grace and wisdom of the Senate have been appointed as rulers over the Republic for the rest of their days.

  • I.A. The co-Consuls of the Republic are Scipio the Great and Virgilius Maro.
  • I.B. Both co-Consuls have imperium, and can act as they as they see fit during their glorious reign.

II. The legislative body of the people is the Roman Senate. The wishes of the people are brought forth amongst its chambers, and their voice is given up to the Consuls to aid in decision-making.

  • II.A.Campaigns of the Republic will be voted on by the Senate to approve their actions.
  • II.B.The voice of the Senate, while important, is not absolute in deciding matters of the state. The Consuls may choose to not heed their advice.
  • II.C. Membership in the Senate is afforded only to citizens of the Republic.

III. Those who dwell under the jurisdiction of the Republic are afforded certain rights as seen fit by the by rule of the Consulate.

  • III.A. Protection from the advances of the undead hordes.
  • III.B. Protection from traitors of the state who seek to do harm to other protected peoples of the Republic.
  • III.C. Healing and the curing of infection by the medicus.
  • III.D. Revitification of the fallen.
  • III.E. The ability to enter into the citizenship process.
  • III.F The ability to ally themselves with Rome.

IV. Those who hold the title of citizen are afforded certain rights that distinguish them from the general populace so that they may bring further glory and honor to the Republic through their actions.

  • IV.A. Citizens are given priority in all rights afforded to the general populace.
  • IV.B. Citizens are afforded the privilege of serving on the Roman Senate.
  • IV.C. Citizens are awarded membership in the Roman Legion, and can thus coordinate in the efforts to expand the Republic and issue in peace to the city.

V. Those who violate the hierarchy of the Republic, defame its glory, or misuse their granted powers in any way are subject to severe penalties based upon their infraction. The following offenses are punishable under the codes of this constitution:

  • V.A. Insubordination of a superior.
  • V.B. Destruction of barricades, generators or radio transmitters, with the intent to harm the Republic.

VII. The Republic is hostile towards any standing member of the undead, except those who are present at designated revive points. In addition, the Republic does not tolerate player killing. Any group who is found to support the goals of zombie groups or player killers is an enemy of the Republic, and will be afforded no quarter in battle.

  • VII.A. The Consulate alone reserves the power to declare war.
  • VII.B. Before declaring war, the Consulate must first consult with the wishes of the Senate.

Roman Herald

Both Scipio and I have begun discussions regarding a future permanent suburb for the Republic, recruitment strategies, and the prospect of a Malton wide event in the near future. More details to come as they are codified.

I am pleased to announce that the Articles of the Republic have been codified and made into law.

I am pleased to announce that Magaera the Vengeful has been welcomed to the Republic as citizen and is afforded voice in the Senate. The NRR also announces our support for the Sacred Ground Policy. May these actions bring glory to the Republic.
