Introduction

This is the journal of my character, Mavrik Kirvam. This is partly based on events that happened in-game. Now, let's begin...

You pick up a journal covered in dust and blood. You open it and begin to read...

.:PROPERTY OF MAVRIK KIRVAM:.

If found, please return to...(the text is smudged with ink).

Some scribblings are on the inside of the front cover. It seems to read "the Cake is a lie!!!"

Sept. 8, 2008

I found this little journal last night while searching Caiger. Sorry for the scribblings on the front, but I got bored. I really have no idea what to do with this now, so I'll write later.

Sept. 10, 2008

Was observing the boundary of the city today, and a though popped into my head when I saw the Wall. How the bloody hell did they manage to build a giant wall around Malton so quickly that absolutely no zombies got out? I posed this question to an army engineer that was trapped after the quarantine, but he had no idea. Either that, or he just didn't want to tell me. Anyway, I suppose I should be getting to sleep, now. I'm in Darvall Heights, and I'm planning to head to the Fort Creedy area tomorrow morning to help out defending it. I hear that they're sending an evacuation heli within the next week to the fort. Hopefully, I can get on it.

Sept. 11, 2008

Was atop a rooftop when I witnessed a safehouse get overrun with zeds today. I saw people jump out the window as the zombies broke in. They'd rather die than be turned. It reminded me of that fateful day seven years ago, people jumping to try and save themselves from the planes. I'm glad I kept this journal. It helps me relax when there's downtime. I'm a couple of days away from Creedy, now. I've been hearing rumors on the radio that they'll be sending multiple helis, not just one. That just increases the chance of my getting out of here. Of course, they're still rumors.

Sept. 15, 2008

Finally reached Creedy. I encountered a couple of zeds, and tried shooting at them. I wasted a lot of ammo. I had to take my axe to their heads, and they eventually died. I really should practice my aim, now that I'm at Creedy. They have a firing range, and some military personnel that stayed behind to hold the fort. Maybe they can help me with my aim.

Rumors of the evac helis have grown stronger, and that they'll be here within the week. Thank God.

Things are going slow at the Fort, so I guess I'll kill some time by writing some details of my life, just in case I drop this somewhere (which I probably will).

My name is... well, I don't know my real name, but the one I use is Mavrik Kirvam. Pretty cool, eh? You see, I woke up from a car crash after encountering some cannibals (which I now know were zombies), and didn't remember anything else other than some faint memories of a wedding reception. I think it was a wedding reception, there was laughter and a bride, but that's all I remembered. Anyway, the reason Mavrik is my name, is because I searched the crash, and all I could find was a CD with the name "Mavrik" on it, a fire axe, and a radio. I have no idea why I had those, but I did. I ambled away from the crash, and encountered a group of people fighting the zombies. I wanted to turn back and hide, but something stopped me from doing that. I ran and helped the survivors. I was too late to help two of them, but I was able to help the rest, holding the zombies back long enough for a safehouse to be established. We quickly ran inside. I remember a couple of names only... Jean and Wendy. They were the friendliest people there. I felt that the others were suspicious of me. I asked Jean, and he told me that the cannibals were actually zombies, and that anyone could be turned. I found out that they thought I was well underway to becoming a zombie. Anyway, I just stayed one night, then left. I came ac-

Wait, I hear helicopter rotors. It may be the evac. I'll write later, I need to check this out.
