Beginning

Joshua spent most of his life growing up in the city of Tropopolis, one of the only places left in the world that people could consider a safe haven. His family was poor and could barely afford to send him and his brother Ben to school. They sat around an old wooden table, each eating 1 meal a day of cold soup and dried bread. Joshua's family was among the few that were poor in the city, which made others think that bullying him was the right thing to do. He only had one friend, Mike, he stuck up for Joshua and helped him out whenever he needed it. Soon after grade 6 there were the first sightings of zombies in Malton. The city went into a state of quarantine, and then into chaos. His father had been framed of stealing, then murder, and soon after that he was exiled from the city, never to return again. Because of the zombies, murderers had come to their wonderful city. They were everywhere, striking fear into the hearts of everyone. luckily the bounty hunters were able to control the outbreak and build a wall around the city's border, but there was still fear. Everyone had begun to panic, they would sit in their homes shaking with fear, hoping for the madness to stop. But not Joshua, he went home and began to prepare himself, for he knew that even worse madness was to come. He knew that someday the walls to their peaceful city would break. Though he could not get his hands on a weapon he trained himself mentally and physically every day. Four years later, when he was 16 his prediction came true, the last of the city's defenses had broken and murderers ran free through the city once again. His mother was murdered the day after the wall fell, so Joshua and Ben had to be taken away to a safety camp near the center of the city. They were going to be split up into different groups, but Joshua wouldn't let them take away the last thing that mattered to him. They attacked the driver and jumped out of the van, running back to their house to try and find some place to hide. They ran through the darkness, trying to avoid murderers wandering eyes. When finally they got home, Mike found them and told them that Joshua had been accused of killing their mother and they were now considered murderers in Tropopolis, everyone was looking for them. Joshua and Ben made the decision to run to Malton as it would be the least obvious place to look for those trying to capture them. Mike pleaded to go with them, because his parents were sending him away to a different city. Joshua decided to steal a car as they were already considered criminals, and drove off as fast as they could. They drove for 27 hours to get to Malton, deep into the suburb of Mockridge Heights. Soon after getting there, they realized that this was all a bad idea. Joshua's 4 years of training was worthless in this city full of brain eating zombies. Joshua and Mike soon separated, deciding to stay in contact, but they had to go their own way to learn to defend themselves. Joshua and Ben were now left alone, they slept where they could to stay safe, while Joshua searched police departments for a shotgun, his new favorite weapon. He learned how to use it with great accuracy and also learned how to free run. Joshua had decided to avenge his mothers death by joining the Malton Marshals, an official bounty hunter group with the police of Malton. Joshua was barely accepted as a bounty hunter because of his young age, but they must have seen something in him that could be used to help everyone. He soon realized that he knew very little about properly defending his family, even though he was a marshal. So he made the decision to leave his brother alone with some new friends and join a school. The next day he drove north for 4 hours before finally arriving, soon after he became part of school life. He was there for 2 weeks, 1 week longer than average, before taking his final test.
