The Abraham Family

The Abraham family were first mentioned in the Malton Census in the mid 1850's. Issac Abraham was listed as an Irish immigrant working in a large Chandler shop in Dentonside.

By the 1870 census Issac was a successful merchant in his own right, owning a number of tobacconists throughout the south east of Malton.

Famous Abraham family members.

Isaac's twin children Kaine and Mabel were famous in their own right. Kaine was a famous explorer and sponsored many of Henry Danger's polar exhibitions. Mabel became a famous organist performing in all of the cities Cathedrals.

In recent years the Abraham family have become increasingly reclusive.

At the turn of the 21st century the families only appearence in newspapers were in relation to the purchase of several buildings in Molebank.

The Abraham Museum was built on land donated to the city by the Abraham family in 1949.

Additional Relevant Information

Although many public records of the family are on public display, no death certificats have ever been recorded for the twins. If still alive they would both now be over 90 years old.
