Sam Popham
Sam has been in Malton for a very long time. Many didn't take notice to the boy in a coma in the hospital just on the wrong side of the wall. That building was basically a safe zone since the only people there were those who couldn't do anything anymore. Basically they were dead weight, but no one wanted to just leave them.
The zombies may have come and ransacked the building, but none ever took notice to the young man, basically a boy when the accident occurred, that laid in the bed unresponsive. No one knew exactly what happened, and those who guessed were usually passerby's.
Well the story came out the day he woke up...
Sam was born in Malton. He was the younger child, but he was never treated like a baby. All of the spot light seemed to go to his older sister, Susan. Their parents, their father being a police officer, always pushed her to do things she usually didn't want to do. Sam didn't mind the fact that he wasn't always given attention, but also felt bad for his sister who was forced to do things she didn't like.
She eventually started her training to become a police officer herself. Once he graduated high school, he moved out and cut off contact with his parents but would talk to Susan from time to time. They were never really close to begin with but they were brother and sister and never had a reason not to get along.
When the zombies came along, Susan had just become an officer. Sam had tried to make his way to his sister after they had been locked inside of the city. He never made it...
On his way he got stayed the night in a factory. The factory had been ruined from the military and the zombie fighting that had been going on. After another round of fighting the building finally collapsed around him, knocking him out and putting him into a coma.
He was found by a passing survivor who happened to see his hand sticking from the rubble. The survivor pulled him out and brought him to the hospital. The hospital took him in and took care of him.
He has just recently woke from his coma and is searching for his sister. Not knowing if she is still alive, or of anything that has really happened in the five years he was away.
