A rookie cop, recently arrived in Malton City, having the proverbial first week from hell. He's decided to temporarily stay his duty to serve and protect to take revenge on a murderer.

21st March Holed up inside the Rolle Library in Kempsterbank at the moment. I ran into a zed outside the Uncles Building, shot him up with my shotgun but I didn't have enough strength to finish the job so I ran in here. Feeling pretty fatigued now. I think the encounter gave me a chance to prove I've got advanced shotgun skills though.
I've been in Barnerd Way Police Station since I got back from Tollyton, some real nice folk there. Well organised and they look out for each other.
Checked the Rogues Gallery, Wingless Butterfly was spotted again in Woodcroffe Mall, same place that I got hit. Feferi Peixes this time. Time to head north again I think.

Bad day in the office. Slipped and fell from Nunn Row Fire Station down to the street below, sprained my ankle and had to crawl into the ruined Byewell Bank to try to recover. It was completely unbarricaded but I had no other choice.Fell asleep as soon as I got inside. Big mistake. I woke up to find a zed chewing on my leg, he must have been attracted by the scent of blood from my injured ankle. I got out just in time and managed to make my way to Hensler Walk where I was able to signal one of The Boardsies for help. I was pretty lucky, Ozmandius Prather was in the area at the time and was able to revive me straight away. I decided to lay low for a couple of hours until I was strong enough to move to a safehouse. Around midnight a zombie wandered over so I thought it time to move. I blasted him twice with the last of my shotgun ammo and was about to switch to my revolver when I noticed the Boardsies badge on his sleeve. Damn! 'Mrnh?'. Feeling pretty bad I made my way back to Barnerd and I let them know there was someone hoping to be revived at Hensler.

Woke up feeling fully recovered, I'd been healed by Aitor Tilla during the night. Spent the day searching the ruined Police station for ammo, the events of the past few days have set my trip to Woodroffe back a bit.
29th
My trip to Woodroffe ended in disappointment. I spent 3 days there searching the suburb and didn't see any sign of Wingless Butterfly. I moved back to Barnerd Way to restock on supplies and found Kempsterbank in a state of siege, large zombie mobs moving around targeting The Jillard Building and St Julie's Hospital. Nerves have become a bit frayed in Barnerd, mostly over how strong to have the building barricaded.
30th
A large mob outside St Julie's, I headed over and managed to drop one and severely damage another, cost me all my shotgun ammo though. In Penni Drive Fire Station now since Barnerd Way is extremely heavily barricaded.

I haven't had the chance to update this journal for a while, since my last entry Malton has become a far more dangerous place for those who wish to remain among the living. After my last search for Wingless Butterfly ended in disappointment I decided to move north and try to join a group calling themselves The Imperium, up near Gibsonton. I heard heard about them from a guy staying in Barnerd Way, from what I could make out from his ramblings they sounded like they had a mission of some sort. It was the sort of thing that appealed to me since I was despairing of ever having my revenge of Wingless Butterfly. It took me over a week to travel there and then it turned out to be a wasted journey, since I could find no sign of them. I slowly started moving south, first to Dentonside where I heard from the officer running what remains of Maney Lane Police Station that the western half of Malton has been completely overrun by hordes of zombies. I must admit to being pretty shocked, when I first arrived here Foulkes Village was the safest place you could be. I stocked up on ammo and FAKs and then headed south to Osmondville where I decided to do everything I could to stop the suburb being overrun. I managed to take out three zombies in one run, two with my revolver before I ran out of ammo and had to use to finish off the last one with my an axe to the skull. I am retired for the night, once I use my last few first aid kits to help a few nearby survivors.

So much has changed since my last entry, I'm not sure where to begin. Back in April I mentioned how the west of Malton had been overrun by a horde of zombies, well since then pretty much every part of Malton has been ruined repeatedly by that horde. Rumour has it they came out of Dunnell Hills, facts are hard to come with the horde thrashing everything in it's path, but one thing was for cetain, it was no ordinary bunch of zeds. There was something about the way they acted in concert, like they were being controlled by some sort of group intelligence, they sure as hell nearly wiped out every survivor in the city though, I run through suburbs that used to be survivor stronghold and I swear I was the only living soul there for 10 blocks in every direction. At one stage things got so bad that I had to shelter in ruined buildings every night, trying to barricade a place only resulted in attracting there attention and certain death.
I moved around a lot the last weeks, first throught the southern suburbs and then up to Yagoton where I sent some time reviving others in the great Yagoton tradition. Some goods, selfless folks up there. Eventually though I heard about a new military force that was recruiting, the 646th Imperial Guard Platoon. Now I'd been familiar enough with the Guard from my old pre-Malton days so I decided to join up in the hope of becoming a part of an organised anti-zombie force. The Platoon was, and still is based around the old Creedy Fort in Pegton/Pinteybank. It was my first time working near a fort so I was pretty excited about getting the experience. It's dangerous work though, for my first few weeks as part of the Guard it was a struggle to stay alive, most of the other soldiers were already infected so revives were hard to come by. Eventually I had to move out to Rolt Heights where the survivors had managed to get a foothold and things were a bit quieter.
After stocking up on supplies I moved back to the Fort to find that things had quietened down, and we were finally able to take the fort. Members of the Creedy Defense Force started moving back in too and between us we've been able to hold the gatehouse for a few days. Traitors to mankind have been a serious problem though, I had to execute two members of the notorious Red Rum faction I found sheltering in the Infirmary as well as a lunatic named Cathrey who had destroyed a precious generator, such behaviour will not be tolerated. I have since been promoted to platoon Commissar, however with survivor discipline at such abyssal depths I feel I will have my work cut out for me.

There were more reports of indiscipline inside the fort but unfortunately we are so hard-pressed defending the gatehouse that I haven't had time to look into them. I have no ammo at the moment for an execution anyway. I emptied my last two pistol clips in a rotter that had broken into the gatehouse, it wasn't enough to finish it though so I had to take an axe to its skull. I was able to toss the body out over the wall before it could stand back up, but there was still another two zeds left inside. I am currently in the courtyard resting for a few hours, but I can still hear the sounds of combat coming from the gatehouse. The Creedy boys are doing a good job but I don't think we can hold out for much longer, I'm going to try rally the Platoon and hopefully we can hold the gatehouse for a bit longer.
16:20 I had a quick look over the walls, 18 zeds outside and 31 dead bodies, looks like we are doing a good job holding the gatehouse so far.
