Some people already know this, but I'm a fan of ants. They are interesting.

So I was pretty keen when I found this french ant-related text-based game. It's called Antzzz.

Some of the tutorial is in french, but it's still a fun game.

Like other micromanagement games like Ogame, Antzzz is a time-based resource micromanagement game that gives you a queen, an ant nest, and sets you out into the world to forage, defend and fight your way to becoming the best ant farm in the garden. It's about 2 years old, and very fun.
