New Arkham DangerReport
Hi Zarak Goldleaf! I've noticed that in the past month or so, you've been reverting others' changes of the New Arkham Danger Report and setting it back to Moderately Dangerous. As another DangerReport updater, I was wondering why this is. Feel free to chime in at the discussion on the DR/NA page, or just respond here. Thanks! Bob Moncrief EBD•W! 01:24, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
Hello Bob! I would be glad to explain. I am team leader for the Scurvy Scroungers who operate in New Arkham. We are well organized and communicate with eachother on the conditions in New Arkham, so daily I am made aware of the conditions in the suburb. I have read discussions of danger level examples and feel that New Arkham is updated to levels of ghost town and dangerous inappropriately. While it is true that the Scroungers are active in the zone, our numbers total only at about 20, and yes there are other zombie groups in the area as well, but no more than about 20 additionals I would say, so the total horde size in the zone is generally below 50 and often sub 40. Further, only rarely will a stack of 10 zombies form in a particular building. Maybe this occurs once every 2 or three weeks when we particularly want to bust into a building or hold one against a counter offensive. Third reason is that while the Scroungers have successfully kept a number of buildings consistently in ruin, this number does not generally total half or more of the buildings in the suburb, indeed a number of key buildings in the suburb have not had an attack on them in a considerable ammount of time. These points seem to be bench marks for updating a zone to moderately dangerous and New Arkham is almost always below all three cases (half the buildings in ruin, a 50+ horde, and a 10 horde stack). To further support this position I also consider survivor activity in the area. The scroungers, yes, are highly organized and can do considerable damage to the zone in a small time frame, however survivor resistance is even stronger. It is not uncommon for the Scroungers and other zombies in the area to kill 15 or 20 survivors in a day, and ruin half a dozen or more buildings. However these survivors are almost immediately returned to combat, and the buildings generally repaired by the time I take my next move. On a typical day, I may find out that buildings we have held for months have been repaired by survivors, and almost always we all have to stand up after being head shotted. A number of months ago the conditions in the suburb did warrant updates to dangerous, but in recent months there has been a considerable survivor surge in the area, and the zombies, as in most of the game, are once again badly out numbered. I hope this clears things up :) --Zarak Goldleaf 00:18, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
