Anna Lee's Thoughts

October 2006

11 October

I don't know what happened for a time there. I woke up in a cemetery in Brooksville, bite marks all over me. Fucking zeds must've got me. I don't remember making the journey. I remember planning it, but then.... nothing. Some part of my mind must've retained that information and gotten me here. Thank God for whoever revived me. Must've been on the Bandit Queens.

I made it from the cemetery to the Mays Boulevard Fire Station. For now I'm safe.

I got the biggest and greatest surprise of my life tonight, though. I'd just gotten back from a quick search for First Aid Kits -- no luck with that -- and was just settling in with an MRE from my pack, when Andy stumbled in!

Andrew Lennox! My best friend since Basic and my adopted baby... errr.. younger brother. It was so good to see his face. He's sleeping now. He looked so tired. I haven't seen him so tired, ever. It scared me. I won't let him out of my sight again. I have to protect him.

Tomorrow we are going to go out together and hopefully scrounge up more supplies. Maybe a pistol, or two, if we're lucky.

Earlier, one of the zeds broke through our barricade and stole one of our fellow survivors right before our eyes. Andy tried to go after him and nearly got grabbed himself. Yep... we really need more weapons. I'm out of ammo and kits. Things in that department are not looking good. But, we're alive.

For now.

12 October

08:00 - Woke up to the sounds of a fight. One of our fellow survivors killed a zed that had gotten inside, possibly the same one from earlier. His rotting corpse was thrown outside with the rest of them. He'll probably be up again soon. He got through our barricades once. I wonder, do zombies feel confidence like we humans do? If so, this one will probably be back for another kill. I hope Andy and I find some pistols when we go out today.

19:12 - Went out in search of FAKs and pistols, but had no luck. Couldn't make it back to Mays, but will be there again before morning. I just need to rest. I'm currently in the lobby of the Saturley Building. There's an awful lot of glass here, I don't like it. I feel like the zeds are watching me with their creepy, dead eyes. Andrew couldn't come with me, because he had something else to take care of. He wouldn't tell me what. Alphege General is supposed to be barricaded enough to keep zeds out, but let us humans in. It wasn't. Glad it was my first stop, I still had enough energy to keep moving.

14 October

09:33 - A man (whose pants were strangely clean) revived me at the cemetery. This time I actually remember being attacked. It took a long time to die. It's a terrifying way to die, trust me on this one. I don't know where Andrew is. I hope he's safe. I'm extremely sick. I feel weak and have broken out in a cold sweat. This must be what the zombie infection feels like. I could handle the fever and chills if the tremors would just stop. It's getting worse by the minute. I need to rest... just rest.....

15 October

10:53 - I had finally gotten to St. John's Hospital and met up with Andy. He was trying to help me, but as he was making me comfortable, I noticed a man. I recognized him as BlackPox. The Bandit Queens have his wanted pictures up all over the neighborhood. I had just voiced my concern about this to Andy when the man went into action. He beat me to death with two blows and after that I have no memory ... until the cemetery... again. I am really getting sick and tired of dying! When I woke I saw Andy's body -- he was human at least. I'm sure he'll be up again soon. I've made my way to Matthias General Hospital, affectionately known, by the locals, as Doc Huvuulloo's Quick Patch Up Station. I put a word out to the Bandit Queens that I'd like to join their cause. They've patched me up so much lately, it's the least I can do. I finally cured my infection, using a discarded FAK and now I'm resting up before I go in search of more.

16 October

01:05 - I don't remember when I've spent a more restless night. First, three zombies came managed to get into Doc's. They didn't attack me, but I didn't waste anytime, I got out of there and ran into the closest building, which I then found out was a NecroTech skyscraper. A couple of the Bandit Queens (one of whom was Clean Pants Man from the other day) stopped in really quickly to see how I was doing. They were quite friendly. A short time later, another member of the BQ came in, this time with a warning. "This isn't a safe place to sleep," he said and advised me to go over to Vaugham Cinema. And here I thought nobody would ask me out in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. Ha ha! Actually, he went on to explain, it's a much safer location. He patched up the bumps and bruises I did have and went on his way. I got out of The Flooks Building barely in time. Ten zombies managed to get in and attacked me all at once! I'm infected again -- there's a SHOCKER! Vision is hazy... but I'm alive... for now...

17 October

23:30 - Shit... shitshitshitshit... I woke up in the cemetery again. I don't remember anything for awhile, even after I was up again. The infection was pretty bad. Some kind soul, I don't even remember if it was a man or a woman, patched me up pretty good though. I finally made it back to St. John's and scraped up some FAKs. Jourgens from BQ showed up needing some help, so I finally was able to do some good. It felt somewhat normal for a while. I was in the middle of helping another survivor when the barricades came crashing down. The zeds were on us before we could even react. They... they... got Jourgens the the other... I think she said her name was Clio. Oh God.. everything is running together. I don't even remember running. One second I had zeds tearing my flesh from my arms and neck and the next thing I know I'm in the museum next door. I guess if I die here, at least I'll get to die looking at some art... what's left here that is. This is art right? If I squint and turn my head, I guess I can make out a face....

18 October

08:26 - I had to move again last night. A zombie got into the Museum and bit me. The rest of the night is a blur, but I know someone came in at one point and took care of my wounds.
