The Armchair Philosophers

The Armchair Philosophers are a group operating (for the time being) out of eastern Fryerbank. The group was born when Doc Burnet and Ricburn came across the Phipps Building Necrotech in August 2007, which was supposed to be protected by both Dragonhead and the Border Patrol, completely overrun and unused.

The pair decided it was time to take back and secure a small portion of Fryerbank.

The Armchair Philosophers are a survivor group. They wish peace and security for all survivors, and most importantly new players lost in the chaos of Fryerbank and Penny Heights.

Although establishing themselves in buildings that used to be controlled by other groups, the Armchair Philosophers do not wish war with any living person. Their goal simply is to maintain safe zones that were not being properly serviced by their former owners.

All communications with the Armchair Philosophers must be made in game, at their HQ, the Phipps Building Necrotech, or on this wiki page. --Doc Burnet 16:24, 22 August 2007 (BST)

--Doc Burnet 18:48, 20 August 2007 (BST) August 20th 2007 The above statement that "the Armchair Philosophers do not wish war with any living person" holds true, but PKing is considered a executable offence. PKers in Fryerbank and Penny Heights be warned.

August 21st

With things quiet in the immediate area, current group goals are to get fix up all generators and install radio transmitters in all buildings touching the Phipps Necrotech. The last zombie attack directly targetted our transmitters so we could not call for help. Next time we will be more prepared. All transmitters and radios should be set to 26.87 MHz, which is the shared radio frequency for Fryerbank, to facilitate communications and cooperation between groups.--Doc Burnet 17:42, 21 August 2007 (BST)

know what you are talking about Short-wave Radio Info
This group or location has a dedicated radio frequency.

August 22nd

The stronghold we have been working on (our idea is the Phipps Building, Parr Towers, and connecting warehouse all powered with radio transmitters) has been postponed due to zombie attack. We currently have 3 zombies inside Parr Towers and 2 beating on the doors of the Phipps NecroTech. Our member roster is currently low and several members are out of the area scavenging/hunting, so any new recruits interested, this is the time to prove yourselves.--Doc Burnet 13:41, 22 August 2007 (BST)

August 23rd

Thanks to the welcome assistance of members of Dragonhead, the Phipps-Parr-warehouse stronghold is secured. Members are encouraged to keep defence, power, and radio transmission capabiliies in these buildings a priority. Other members of TAP have gone south to repair and defend the Towne Row and Hobson Place PDs, as well as the Newborough Museum in Miltown which seems to be a rather constant target for small scale attacks. Help in this venture would be appreciated.--Doc Burnet 16:01, 23 August 2007 (BST)

August 23rd 13:00

The Phipps Building is under attack once again, with at last count, 4 career zombies inside. Calling all members and allies.--Doc Burnet 18:11, 23 August 2007 (BST)

August 27th 10:34

All is quiet around headquarters. All our buildings are currently barricaded, powered, and transmitting. Members are encouraged to find some gas cans to fuel the generators when the time comes. Another Armchair Philosophers Stronghold has been officially declared: The Towne Row PD in southern Fryerbank. Members are encouraged to drop by and ask Ricburn what needs doing. Other priorities are helping to take back Gelasius Hospital which has been a constant target in the last week. A few of our members have joined the battle there.--Doc Burnet 15:43, 27 August 2007 (BST)

September 4th

HQ is under attack by zombies. PK'ers have recently targetted several AP and allied Dragonhead members. Defend HQ at all costs and beware anyone from Redrum, Zog of Marrinum, or Bigger Mortice. Members are encouraged to look up these groups on the wiki so they can spot their members.--Doc Burnet 21:36, 4 September 2007 (BST)

September 7th

HQ is clear, powered, and transmitting. Thanks to everyone who fought with us. Stay vigilant though there are many dead bodies around that could rise anytime.--Doc Burnet 20:05, 7 September 2007 (BST)

September 10th

Phipps Building under attack once again. 11 zombies outside. All fighters and barricaders please join the fight.

September 11th

Inside of Phipps cleared of zombies. 4 still outside. We have good friends fighting with us to keep this building safe. Towne Row PD also breached very briefly but also safe now thanks to new members and local friends fighting alongside us. Members of Bigger Mortice have been popping into our buildings and offering alliance against Dragonhead. Seeing as some of these same people have PK'ed our members without provocation, we consider these offers a further ruse to create chaos and confusion in Fryerbank. Please beware and report any Bigger Mortice intrusions on this wiki.--Doc Burnet 18:34, 11 September 2007 (BST)

September 12th

Zombies still plaguing Phipps building. DNA scanning has shown that this is almost certainly a zerging attack, as most of the zombies are level 1 or 2. The new policy regarding this is: Revive any zombie that would not be a threat as a human. If they don't have combat skills then they can't hurt us as survivors. High-level career zombies should still be killed rather than revived, even if it is possible in the NT. We just don't want them to come back in with guns and continue their attack.--Doc Burnet 15:43, 12 September 2007 (BST)

September 16th

The siege of Phipps continues. Reinforcements would be great. Stronghold #2 up and running, few zombies in that area. Ricburn has gone to Penny Heights to open a new chapter for the group. --Doc Burnet 19:57, 16 September 2007 (BST)

September 24th

No good news... Phipps is still down. Were fighting to get it back up. Rhumors of zombie hordes advancing through Penny Heights. Defend the NTs at all costs. Repeat: defend the NTs at all costs. Phipps is the priority given its proximity to a mall.--Doc Burnet 22:58, 24 September 2007 (BST)

October 2nd

Fryerbank is in shambles! We got Phipps back and running, but its constantly under attack. Towne Row is safe. All Armchair Philosophers are asked to report in for regrouping. We must set some clear goals and get some key buildings back online. Check in via the discussion panel of this wiki page.--Doc Burnet 18:45, 2 October 2007 (BST)

October 4th

Phipps is holding. We have a dedicated crew of members and many non-members helping. Towne Row is fucked. Rick Burns is running around Miltown trying to get supplies to fix it up. Go help him out if you're close. Priorities: Maintain Phipps! Revive at Kingham Drive! Help get back Lumber Mall!--Doc Burnet 15:47, 4 October 2007 (BST)

October 16th

Long days of darkness in Fryerbank. Members scattering to find revives. The surrounding suburbs seem to have been as thoroughly smashed as we were. Members with extra XP are encouraged to get zombie combat skills if dead and fight the invaders on their own terms. If we just sit rotting at revive points we may not be serviced for a long time. Courage and determination will see us through this.--Doc Burnet 20:06, 16 October 2007 (BST)

October 24th

Life slowly returns. Members are encouraged to repair and barricade any buildings they can, of course prioritizing ours. Carry a toolbox, FAKs, needles, a Genny, and fuel. Lumber mall is open for all your shopping needs.--Doc Burnet 15:23, 24 October 2007 (BST)

October 26th

The Armchair Philosophers are no more. We are dissolving the group and joining some of our allied groups who have the same goals and areas of operation. This will benefit communication and organization. Thanks to all members who fought with me.--Doc Burnet 19:50, 26 October 2007 (BST)
