Sounds great!! I took your idea to the beavers (actually before you even mentioned this in Sweatman). The discussion is here (I started a new one on the visitor board so everyone can see): http://dribblingbeaver.proboards49.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1194386081

The Dribbling Beavers will do everything we can to keep the race clean. If this race is a success, I definately want this to become a tradition (and eventually become some sort of Olympics that groups will want to participate in). -CarsonCE

Cheating?

hey...i know its s'pose to be a goodwill event but perhaps the clock shots should be abolished. its just wayyy too easy to change it by one or two minutes. Is there a better way?--Jed 05:36, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

You bring up a good point, one I've been pondering for a while. Having a non-competing character (probably me) inside to take a screenshot just prior to the start was my initial idea; perhaps I should shout 'GO!' or something instead of having people rely on their own clocks. Alternatively, we could have racers open a second browser window like this (http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/2443/multiwindowhr9.jpg) showing the standardized clock at time.gov, set to UTC, next to the map showing their name and position. -MadAxman, 1:35AM EST (USA), Nov. 7

I also agree, I would be willing to stay at a location (such as the finish line). What they would have to do to win is to simply say the website for their screenshot. Even if multiple people showed up before I checked it, the timestamp would have the winner on top. I could then declare the winner to those that didn't know and spraypaint that there already was a winner so that people would know when they showed up. -CarsonCE, 9:06 AM (EST), Nov 7
