If you want to contact a user (to tell them to use preview, and to comment), it's better to add a message to their "User talk:" - it doesn't clutter up the talk of the page they were editing, and they get an alert telling them that someone's edited their talk page. Kschang didn't have a user or talk page at that point. Still doesn't. AFAIK they are created automatically, so I was assuming he edited without creating an account. On that assumption it seemed best to contact him through the talk page. -- Markus 13:01, 26 Sep 2005 (BST)
Talk pages are created whenever the first person says something to you. User pages are created whenever someone (usually you) decides that you need to have some information about you up there. --LibrarianBrent 15:20, 26 Sep 2005 (BST)
