Back-story
Pre-Outbreak
Born in the British city of Liverpool Edward James Williamson was the son of a dock worker and a librarian. With these jobs both would bring in very little money. Despite this he had a great time playing rugby with the local kids. In secondary school his grades were decent, though he may have slacked off a bit. Then Edward became increasingly in trouble with the police. Nothing too seriously bad, just horse play with his friends, but his father didn't see it this way. Eventually Edward, and his father had a big fight where some unpleasant things were said. A couple days later his father became very ill, and Edward had to drop out, and get a job to support his family. They thought he was going to die but he miraculously pulled through. After Edward had learned to respect those around you. He finished school with no more incidents, and didn't know what to do with his life. Then after some thought he immediately signed up for the British parachute regiment. He passed the tests and was sent onto multiple missions for his first year. Although he didn't pass above the rank of private he did receive multiple awards of valor. He gave a portion of the money he earned to his parents who were now no longer terribly poor and lived in their own house.
Outbreak
A new disease, some horribly brutal attacks, and riots in an Urban town called Malton had been reported. The government had suspected a serious problem at hand so martial law was initiated. When things turned bad they called in Edward, and a few others in the parachute regiment for a mission to relieve aid. After a briefing of information containing several sources revealed that "crazed" citizens had been brutally mutilating other people on the streets it was decided that the disease might have been more serious than previously thought. With that they air dropped Edward, and his team just outside the streets of Malton. Shortly after launch turbulence separated him from his group, which landed him into a hell he couldn't imagine.
