Hey! Well, basically, we have a couple of documents about how to write a more uniform building history/description here and (to a lesser extent) here, but generally a more simplified mentality to keep is:
*Be exciting, it doesn't have to be based on truth, you can make up names and dates and events which led to the location's creation or importance.
*Write like you would if you were writing an encyclopaedic article for Wikipedia or something; ie, neutral point-of-view etc.
*Try not to promote your group or character in it unless it's based off some in-game truth, or you might run into some enemies who want their name alongside yours :/
*Seriously, have fun. If you want to have some examples of how far you can push the 'non-serious' aspect of the content, check out ALiM and some of the location descriptions they've written. They tend to enjoy pushing the boundaries a bit.
And remember that when you're doing this, as long as you mean well, you won't get into any trouble. The worst that will happen is someone will just change your wording or sentences around so they don't offend or anything.

Hey! Well, basically, we have a couple of documents about how to write a more uniform building history/description here and (to a lesser extent) here, but generally a more simplified mentality to keep is:

 • Be exciting, it doesn't have to be based on truth, you can make up names and dates and events which led to the location's creation or importance.
 • Write like you would if you were writing an encyclopaedic article for Wikipedia or something; ie, neutral point-of-view etc.
 • Try not to promote your group or character in it unless it's based off some in-game truth, or you might run into some enemies who want their name alongside yours :/
 • Seriously, have fun.
