These are the rules for the successive events held by the Malton Manhunt. It includes both manhunt scenarios, either being survival or deathmatch.

Survival Manhunt

When a contestant dies in a survival manhunt, they lose the competition and must play out the rest of the game as a zombie. A survival manhunt has no time limit, and is ended once there is only one player left alive. Two of these manhunts have been held, each with separate rules to accommodate the individual scenarios.

2007 Manhunt

Established in the 2007 Manhunt

  • Players are encouraged to play an active part in the Manhunt after they have been killed, but only as a zombie, and only as the character they died as. Even though they can not win, this is encouraged, it adds excitement.
  • No alts, period.
  • Once you die, you can't win the manhunt. Whether you die from manhunt contender, PKer, Zombie or window, you can not be revived and allowed in the competition.
  • No revives once you have died, unless you have left the area while the manhunt is on.
  • No leaving the designated area, period. And don't think it can't be policed. They've been found before.
  • Once you kill someone, you are required announce it on the Wiki. If it is someone who is likely to fight against it, a screenshot it always handy.
  • Do what you can to win; anything within the game's limits (except cheating) are legal in the manhunt. Seek out opponents, hide, overbarricade, broadcast propaganda, send text messages.

Manhunt 2008

The following rules were established in the 2008 Manhunt

  • The information restriction regarding player whereabouts has been abolished: Information sharing is allowed to suffice for the introduction of teams.
  • Mobiles, spraycans and radio broadcasts will now be allowed to be used to coordinate attacks and display whereabouts to other players. A group frequency is recommended.
  • As per tradition, if there are just two contestants alive and they haven't found each other after a long time, they are encouraged to have a fight night, where they meet in an arranged area and fight to the death.
    • There is no limit to the amount of ammo or FAKs that the contestants can carry, by traditionally a limit is agreed upon by both contestants.
    • Spectators (including past contestants) are allowed, and reviving contestants (so they can watch) is allowed only after the fight is announced by the contestants or the referee.
    • The limit that this rule can be implemented into the contest is 5 days after there officially becomes only 2 contestants.
    • If the fight is interfered with by anyone (contestant or not, zombie or human) the fight is allowed to be postponed to a later date. The objective of this fight is to achieve a chance-based conclusion to the Manhunt.
  • To discipline players who break the above rules, their team will be disqualified.
  • The team you are playing for needs to be known before the manhunt. If you are going solo, this rule still counts, just nominate 'solo'.
  • When less players are alive in the Manhunt, the size of the arena is subject to change to encourage the ending of the Manhunt.

Deathmatch

These rules accompany the manhunts that are based on kill count rather than survival. They usually operate in a one month time span and involve a score based on the contestant's raw kills at the end of the given time period. If a contestant dies, they may be revived and continue in the competition.

Axe Hack's Manhunt Rules

  1. No sleeping in Malls. Malls may only be used for resupplying.
  2. You may not enlist the help of anyone not involved in this Manhunt. (ie: Broadcasting on the radio that one of the contestant is KOS.)
  3. Most kills win, whether as a zombie or a survivor. A screenshot must be provided to validate the kill.
  4. No teaming up with other contestants. (ie: Player1 and Player2 may not "tag team" on Player4)
  5. This Manhunt will take place in a 3x3 square in the Southwestern corner. Those suburbs are: Nixbank, Wykewood, South Blythville, Foulkes Village, Ruddlebank, Lockettside, The Arkham Sisters, and Spicer Hill. If you sleep in another suburb besides the one listed here, your kill count will be deducted by one. A screenshot of the suburb (everything else may be blacked out, except for your character name) may be taken to prove you're in the Manhunt areas.
  6. No zerging.
  7. No kills on a contestant was to be counted if both players involved was a zombie.
