Well, I am aware that accounts go inactive, but that still doesn't let me get my name back. Also two reasons I wouldn't want to email Kevan:

  • Like everyone else in the world (I'm sure) I like continence. If I could click a few buttons and spend less than 30 seconds to delete my character what is wrong with that? Instead of having to email Kevan, when I'm sure he has better things to attend to than some stupid kids request to delete his multi accounts.
  • Number two he might not even preform the request as previously stated. It would waste both of our time.

Simply put, it's convenience more than anything. If Kevan could just put that one little setting and only waste however much work it takes to put in, he will never have to read "Please delete my character" Ever again... unless you're not very bright and/or did not take the time to explore the settings. And I'm honestly trying to think of why would you kill it? Nothing wrong could possibly come out of this. And besides, you might not have noticed, but pretty much ever game in existence will let you delete things, It is a Basic option that I think should come standard with any game. 666Unit 23:20 Jun 12 2007 (PST)

I don't get much email about this - most people seem able to read the FAQ, which states that characters cannot be deleted or renamed. --Kevan 09:28, 13 June 2007 (BST)

If Kevan is worried about confusing players when people remake their characters, maybe he could put an age or level restriction on a deletion. So if a character is still level one, he can be deleted by his owner. I don't see how anyone would be bothered by that. I had the same problem as 666Unit and had to make up new names. --Remy Green 20:26, 13 June 2007 (BST)

If by in game confusion you mean that if someone picks up an older name they will become mistaken for someone else? Well since there is no way to search for a characters current position, that would only make a slightly slim chance that you could run into one of the previous users old friends/enemies. But once they see that you may have a totally different description/skill set they could conclude that its not their friend/enemy. And I think that people play this game with friends, so if someone did decide to leave after playing for 6 months I think that their friends would know that the name no longer represents them. And like Green said maybe you could put some sort of restriction, like if you donate money for an account you could get both the IP limit taken off and the chance that you account will never be deleted. I know with many other games free accounts accounts are deleted with like 3 months of inactivity, but games like Final Fantasy XI where you have a monthly fee, I'd be damned if they deleted my account while I'm still paying for it. I've tried this game last year when I got bored at school, and I kind of didn't like it, so the accounts that I started with stayed there since December of 2006. But now that I have a renewed interest in the game, I still had the account information in my computer 6 months later... I tried to delete them but...

But seriously all I want is to reduce the clutter of names that have gone lost/forgotten, and possibly gain a cool name that some person has robbed an active player from.
Ps I also wiki @: http://editthis.info/Inselkampf/User:666Unit I play this game along with Inselkampf, good daily combo. --666Unit 14:12, 13 June 2007
