|
Description
Lock Street is an open street in Lerwill Heights, next to the Metcalfe Museum, the Hambro Building, Tarasius General Hospital and Langman Lane Fire Station.
History
The street was originally called Baker Street, but after the surrounding buildings had "locked" it in between them, the locals started referring to the "locked street". In time, it became known as Lock Street, a name the city council made official in 1991.
