History
Named after its founder, J. H. Porter, in 1923, it apparently had three stories and a clock tower. A terrorist attack wiped out the tower and part of the 3rd floor in 1980. It was closed after the attack, and renovations began in 1987, albeit slowly and intermittently. Workers tore down the 2nd floor and began reconstruction of the clock tower in December of 2004.
