Description

The Singer building in Galbraith Hills was the home to WMTN TV7 NEWS and was broadcasted to all of Malton proper. The Singer building is 22 floors, with seven separate studios to shoot the various programs, a garage for the mobile news team, two satellite dishes, and a radio transceiver on the roof. The building also hosts two sound stages that was rented out for the general public, and was the home for the Galbraith Hills public access station. WMTN TV 7 NEWS.jpg

NecroWatch

Now considered this suburb's Scout Point for NecroWatch. As this suburb has no NTs, a composite scout report can be made from this location and posted on the page for this suburb to the benefit of all. If you are interested in continuing the scout report, especially during times of zombie seige, please contact NecroWatch--Dr Mycroft Chris 22:13, 2 May 2009 (BST)

Current Status

The building is secure for now at VHB, but the building has no power or fuel. I'm conserving energy to make a run for a nearby suburb in order to get a generator to get the Mobile_Phone_Mast up and running again. Dr Marty 01:18 AM, 24 August 2010 (HST)

History

The Singer building was built in the 1970’s and was built with (then) cutting edge electronics for the WMTN TV7 NEWS station in order to upgrade it for transmissions to all of Malton. The building was named after Joseph Singer, the benefactor that provided the majority of financial backing for the WMTN TV7 NEWS in its early days.

In the late 1990s, the building was gutted and new fiber optic lines was installed in order to prepare the building for the new millennium. Satellite dishes were installed in order to easily communicate with the mobile reporters and enable live broadcasts from remote locations.
